WEEKLY WEATHER OUTLOOK

October 18 - 25, 2024

Today and tomorrow (18-19 October), the Intertropical Covergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring mostly
cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Mindanao while Metro Manila and the rest of
the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated afternoon or evening rainshowers
or thunderstorms due to Easterlies.
By Sunday until Monday (October 20 - 21), the Low Pressure Area (LPA) embedded within the ITCZ
outside Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is forecast to enter the PAR region. The trough of this
weather distubrance may bring mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over
Quezon, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas, and Mindanao. Meanwhile, the Easterlies will continue to
bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or
evening over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Development of this LPA into tropical depression on Sunday or Monday is not ruled out.
By Tuesday until Friday (October 22 - 25), as the weather disturbance will continue to move generally
westward, cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms may be experienced over
Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Bicol Region. Mostly cloudy skies with
scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are also possible over Palawan, Western Visayas, Negros
Island Region, and most of Mindanao. Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have
partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
The weather scenario next week will depend on the movement of the expected weather
disturbance and its potential development into a tropical cyclone.
The updates on this outlook will be provided through the daily issuances of Public Weather Forecasts
and Weather Advisories if there are significant changes in the weather scenario.
