1. INTRODUCTION AND DESCRIPTION
1.1. This document presents supplemental Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) for STC
ST00971SE-D (ref. DAS 9 NM STC project 90142).
1.1.1. The data referenced in this document demonstrates compliance with the requirements of FAR
25.1529, Amendment 25-54 and Appendix H to Part 25 for the components added by this
modification. Revisions to this ICA will be recorded under the Revisions Page and the List of
Effective Pages will be updated accordingly. All revisions of this ICA must be submitted to the
FAA for acceptance prior to being distributed.
1.1.2. Changes to this document or to the data referenced in this document shall be disseminated
within 14 days after acceptance by the FAA to the Operator of the modified aircraft to ensure
continued safe operation and maintenance.
1.2. This Cockpit Door Surveillance System (CDSS) consists of three cameras in the forward cabin near the
flight deck door, one video monitor on the aft bulkhead of the cockpit, a control panel and the
associated wiring to connect these components together (see Figure 1). Some CDSS Systems include
a System Active Indicator, which is mounted in the ceiling panel adjacent to the R1 Door Camera. The
CDSS is directly connected to a non-essential bus (DC2) and isolated by a 2.5 amp circuit breaker. It
is independent from all other aircraft systems.

1.3. Interior Modifications:
• Installation of one Camera in the lowered ceiling panel just aft of the flight deck door.
• Installation of one Camera in Door 1 LH over door lining.
• Installation of 1 Camera in Door 1 RH over door lining and, in some CDSS systems, a System
Active Indicator installed in the vicinity of this Camera.
• Installation of 1 Liquid Crystal Display monitor mounted on the inboard corner of the P6 circuit
breaker panel.
• Installation of a control panel in the center aisle stand, consisting of a master power switch and a
camera selection switch. Lighted switches will be installed on the control panel and will be
controlled by the existing lighting system.

APPENDIX C – MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
1.1. The maintenance tasks and intervals within the Boeing MPD D6-38278 have been found to provide
adequate scheduled maintenance for the CDSS alteration. See below for specific task detail.
1.1.1. Table 1.1 lists maintenance tasks for CDSS Installation Number 2002-180-1.
1.1.2. Table 1.2 lists maintenance tasks for CDSS Installation Number 2002-180-2 and 2002-180-3.
1.1.3. In conjunction with the tasks specified in Table 1, check the CDSS wiring harnesses for cracked,
chafing or broken wires. Check for excessive buildup of dust, dirt and liquid contaminates.
Clean excessive dust, dirt and other contaminants from the wiring by vacuum or by wiping with a
clean cloth as required. Refer to the drawings noted in Table 1 for locations and routing paths.
Repair or replace broken, cracked, or chafed wires in accordance with Boeing Standard Wiring
Practices Manual D6-54446 and the drawings noted in Table 1.
CAUTION: DO NOT use solvents, such as Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) or Trichlorethylene when
cleaning wires.
