Animals Testing
Nowadays, medical testing on animals is widely used to develop new medicines and
to test safety of other product. By using testing on animals, people could create
many drugs to treat human diseases such as Penicillin antibiotics or Covid -19
vaccines. However, some people argue that these experiments should be banned
because it is morally wrong to cause animals to suffer.
It is unfair and inhumane with animals when using them in medical experiments
because animals also feel physical pain like humans. In fact, animals have to go
through these experiments but there is no painkiller, and these experiments even
cause mental damage to them. For example, when observing the behavior of dogs
after amputation surgery, Dr. Dorothy Brown (University of Pennsylvania, School of
Veterinary Medicine), noticed that these dogs became less active, lost their appetite,
and regularly observe the incision.
Testing on animals often brings unreliable, ineffective, and perilous results.
Regardless of the fact that, humans and animals have similar organ system, yet
animals do not get some human diseases such as HIV, blood pressure or diabetes. In
addition, many drugs that can be used in animals are extremely dangerous for
humans because of differences in genetics. For instance, the drug Vioxx was shown
to have a heart-protective effect in rat, but the drug caused more than 27,000 heart
attacks and sudden cardiac death in humans before being withdrawn from the
market.
Nowadays, people have found many alternative methods to minimize the use of
animals in research such as in vitro or in silico studies. As a result, many countries on
the world, including Canada have banned cosmetic testing on animals.

Alternative testing methods to animal testing are still quite limited, so animal
testing still plays an important role in researching new drugs. We cannot deny that
using animals testing to find a Covid 19 vaccine has saved the lives of millions of
people around the world.
In conclusion, medical testing on animals is an unfair and unhuman action because
animals also feel physical pain like human. people have found many alternative
methods to minimize the use of animals in much research. Animals testing should be
ban in the future.
