Audition Requirments:
Audition Song List
“Blue Monk” by Thelonious Monk.
“Take the A Train” by Duke Ellington.
“All The Things You Are” by Jerome Kern.
“Stella By Starlight” by Victor Young (ballad).
“Misty” by Errol Garner (ballad).
Choose any two of the songs from the Audition List above and be able
to do the following:
Play the melody of the song.
Play accompaniment for 1 chorus/cycle (Only applicable to
guitar/piano players).
Play solo for 2 chorus/cycle.
Play the head again.
In addition, be able to play Scales — one, two octaves of major and
minor, alternate picking (guitarists); ability to read a chord chart, be
able to solo over basic chord changes.
