HISTORY OF DATA CENTER COLLEGE OF THE
PHILIPPINES
Data Center College of the Philippines started out in 1970 as a small school offering short
courses in Computer Programming Software in Davao. Fifteen years later, DCCP was able to
extend its services in Baguio City; years later, branches in Laoag, Vigan, Abra were
established.

The very first day of doing my Work Immersion Portfolio seemed very tough to me, I had to deal
with a lot writing and thinking. The first day, I wrote the Dedication, Acknowledgement, and
Application letter, and upon writing the Dedication, I suddenly realized why I am studying and
going to school, I thought of my parents and love ones that sacrificed their strength and power to
send me to school.

This day, my friends and I had a deal to do this portfolio in group, my family opened the door for
them to join me doing this work. While we’re doing this portfolio, we had so much fun and chats
that we didn’t notice the tiredness and busyness. My friends and me worked on other school
requirements also because we learned that sharing knowledge makes the work faster.

My eyes are exposed in so much radiation coming from my laptop computer, I encoded the parts
of my portfolio I’m done writing with. Of course I also had time to rest and to take care of my
mental health, I also kept in touch with my friends and family so that I can think more of
inspiration upon doing this Work Immersion Portfolio.

This day is so tough, I just wanted to lay in my bed all day because I had so much in my mind
that left no room for myself, and looking to my laptop is stressing me. But I woke up my own
mind, I have to be tougher than this work, I have to sacrifice my strength and my brain cells for
my future. I managed to snap out of cramming and and be productive.

This day, I encoded a lot, my eyes are irritated and hurt. So I just communicated with my friends
and we talked about doing our Work Immersion Portfolio, I checked on them and they seemed
tired too, so we decided not to go to school on the next day to have more rest time and also be
more focused on our Work Immersion, we had a fun chat and deep talks about our life during the
Work Immersion time period.

I continued encoding the contents of my Portfolio, this day is very productive and busy, I thought
a lot, I wrote a lot and I encoded a lot. At the end of the day seeing my Portfolio almost done, I
felt so proud of myself that a student who likes to do cramming like me can do a lot in school
works when I’m motivated.

I still have a lot of work to do, I communicated with my friends to gain more informations and
knowledge on doing this Portfolio. This day I thought of doing this Work Immersion more
creative and substantial, in this way, my Portfolio can be more pleasing to read.

The hardest parts of this Work Immersion is what I am doing this day, I wrote the summary of
my learnings. It almost cracked my head open thinking of what I have learned in every subject, I
realized that I have to deal with this part for more than a day. This day is also my birthday so I
had to end my working time in the noontime because I had to help to the preparation for my
celebration in the afternoon, during my celebration, I let go all of my stress and I didn’t mind
about my Portfolio, I just enjoyed my day, entertained my visitors, and cherished the moment
that I became a legal-aged person. Cheers to the 18 years of my existence!

I went to school to submit my other school requirements, I also asked help from my friends on
how to do other parts of my Portfolio. I acquired more information from my teachers regarding
my Work Immersion, and after school, I treated my friends for lunch as a blowout celebration for
my birthday yesterday.

It’s Saturday today so I have so much time to do my Work Immersion Portfolio, I made this day
a productive one, I encoded a lot, I bought a Portfolio, and attached the parts I’m done working
with. In the night I just laid in my bed and decided to finish my work tomorrow.

I worked a lot on this day, I focused only on my Work Immersion Portfolio, I attached the
remaining parts of my Work Immersion in the Portfolio, I encoded a lot even my eyes are
irritated. It’s finally done, It’s the first time I finished a lot of work by myself, I’ve never been so
proud of myself, and I skipped a meal for me to finish this work by the end of the day so I can
rest and sleep all night.
