3.0 Procedure
3.1 CIT wishing to use ‘NABL Accredited Laboratory’ in test report / certificate, once
accredited by NABL for the parameters / tests covered under NABL accredited scope.
3.2 Usage of NABL Symbol in accredited parameter reports wherever accredited parameter is
mandatory.
3.3 We will not give any Narrative reference to accredited status in place of NABL symbol in
test reports. We will claim NABL accreditation for location specific. We will claim accreditation
to the related only to the specific our lab location that is covered under the NABL scope of
accreditation, and not with any other non-accredited locations. Separate report/certificate will
be issued for non-accredited parameters which is non NABL report. Asterisk mark or any other
symbol is will not use in the report / certificate containing accredited parameters.
3.4 CIT will not claim accreditation in narrative reference.
For testing Laboratory: Pictorial representation of NABL Accredited laboratory to be used by a
testing laboratory is depicted below, where TC XXXX is the Accreditation Certificate
TC-XXXX
3.5 “NABL Symbol” is reproduced in any single colour (preferably black).
3.6 “NABL Accredited laboratory” is reproduced in black colour only. Embossed, relief, or die
stamped versions are allowable.
3.7 NABL symbol is displayed on all certificates and reports (based on labs policy) that contain
exclusively the results of testing from accredited scope. Each non-accredited report is issued in
separate sheets which has no NABL symbol without claiming the accreditation.

3.8 We will issue certificate that meets the requirement of ISO/IEC 17025. NABL Accredited
laboratory wishing to use ‘NABL Accredited laboratory obtains approval in writing and agree
to the rules for the use of the laboratory from NABL.
3.9 The NABL symbol claim of accreditation is used by NABL accredited laboratory only under
the name and address, on which it holds accreditation. If lab changes the premises after getting
accreditation from NABL, lab will not use NABL logo until audit is completed.
3.10 If the authorized signatory leaves the laboratory, lab does not use NABL symbol until
getting authorization from NABL for the other authorized signatory. If the approved
authorized signatory leaves the LAB, immediately stops using NABL Symbol/ claim of
accreditation on the reports/certificates (if approved alternatives are not available is
the same discipline) and inform NABL about the alternatives. NABL Symbol/ any claim of
accreditation shall not be used on reports/certificates till alternative signatory is approved by
NABL. During this period, laboratory is considered to be non-accredited.
3.11 If there is any changes in the test method used for analysis, NABL symbol is not used.
3.12 If the test method range is not covered in the NABL scope, NABL symbol is not used.
3.13 We will use NABL Symbol and / or claim of accreditation shall only by during the period
when it holds valid accreditation.
3.14 The NABL Symbol and / or claim of accreditation shall be used by NABL accredited CAB
only under the name and address, on which it holds valid accreditation.
3.15 We will not use combined mark of ILARC and NABL symbol.
