Picking Your Niche

● This is what will make or break your channel
○ Make the wrong choice and you will lose a lot of time and money

Take shortcuts
Pick a niche only for the money
 Pick a niche that’s a “hack/gray area” on YouTube
Pick a niche because it’s trending right now even though you have
no interest
■ Do’s
Pick something you can be obsessed about for the next 3-5 years
Keep the main thing, the main thing
Identify the problems you can solve
Research your competitor & see how much people are making
Make sure the angle you take can be a faceless channel
Define the profitability of this niche
Define how many streams of income you can build from it
Commit yourself to become the best of the best to compete with
the giants in your niche
Commit to it for the next 100-200 videos improving from each
video to video

Study Your Niche

Don’ts
● You compare yourself negatively with the competition
● You think it’s impossible because of your lack of creativity
● You don’t know how to find the resources to creative such content
● You don’t know how to reverse engineer a goal to get there

Do’s
● Find the biggest competitors channels in your niche
○ Study how they make videos
● Find the new “up and coming” channels
○ Study their thumbnails and titles
● Create an avatar profile for your perfect audience of choice
● Get into the communities to know what is trending and what is currently consumed in the
niche
● Get to know how people and connect with creators
● Choose 3 different buckets of content you can create

Create An Elite Team

○ Don’ts
■ Cheap out on creators
■ Pay them too little for their value
■ Don’t stay with the same person you first hired
 ■ Don’t rely on AI and cheap tools to mass produce at a low price
● Dead methods… waste of time and money
○ AI should be there to help assist creators. Not replace
them… Yet
■ Impatient with finding the right team
■ Not rewarding them when they’re crushing it
■ Poor communication
■ Poor leadership
■ Disorganized leadership

● This is where you’re going to be refining your craft after every single video

■ Don’t trust your team's ability to create viral content
● You’re the creative director… not them
■ Don’t batch create content at first
■ Don’t follow the rule of 33 every other guru talks about
■ Don’t expect your mediocre videos to get picked up by the
algorithm
■ Don’t start with a pre-monetized channel
● With the recent algorithm updates, this method is hella
risky and it’s also a bad habit to try to shortcut YouTube
■ Don’t pay micro workers to boost your video
■ Don’t pay for fake engagement
■ Don’t do “follow for follow”
■ Don’t ask friends and family to give you a view if they’re not
interested in your niche
○ Do’s
■ Do quality control over every single step of the creation process
■ Promote every single video organically to feed data to the
algorithm
● This one needs to be done right or will be useless
■ Hit every angle Long form / short form / community
■ Engage with your audience and get them to engage more
■ Study your analytics hard and figure out what needs improvement
Find ways to improve CTR & AVD and overall SESSION TIME

$1-$2K (Establishing Your Channel)

● Monetized and getting Adsense revenue
● Your CTR & AVD is on point
○ You’re able to get attention and keep attention from the start of someone’s watch
session to the end of their session
● You got a couple video in the hundreds of thousands of views
● You’re starting to compete at becoming first to come out with trending topics in the niche
● You’re getting creative with trend hacking
● Your content calendar is getting consistent and your team starts to understand exactly
what you need
 ● You’re re-investing money in the channel to improve the video creation process and
quality of your brand

Common pitfalls
Mindset
● You stop improving your content because you see a little bit of success

● You’re consistently able to create engagement on each video
● You optimized your channel so much your audience gets stuck in your ecosystem

● You’ve built a couple fans that constantly give you feedback and come for each and
every video
● You got a couple video in the hundreds of thousands of views which are constantly
bringing in views
● Some people may start asking for extra advice or paid information
● You’ve got a couple video BLOW UP to over 300K - 1M views
● You are getting into your groove and are developing specific trainings and SOPs for your
team
● You’re still reinvesting the money you make into your channel until you can truly say
you’re consistently competing against the biggest of the biggest people

Common pitfalls
● Leadership
○ You're not producing enough content

● You have some die hard fans you connect with and even built relationships with
