Here's a delicious and easy recipe for a classic chocolate cake:

### Ingredients:

#### For the Cake:

- 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

- 2 cups granulated sugar

- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 2 large eggs

- 1 cup whole milk

- 1/2 cup vegetable oil

- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

- 1 cup boiling water

#### For the Chocolate Frosting:

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- 3 cups powdered sugar

- 1/3 cup whole milk

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- A pinch of salt

### Instructions:

#### For the Cake:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and
salt.

3. Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes
until well combined.

4. Stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin, but that's okay.

5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.

6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes
out clean.

7. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool
completely.

#### For the Chocolate Frosting:

1. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the cocoa powder and powdered sugar to remove lumps.

2. In another bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.

3. Add the sifted cocoa and powdered sugar to the butter, along with the milk, vanilla extract, and a
pinch of salt.

4. Beat the frosting on low speed until combined, then increase the speed to medium and beat until
smooth and creamy.

#### Assembling the Cake:

1. Once the cakes are completely cooled, spread a layer of chocolate frosting on top of one cake layer.

2. Place the second cake layer on top and frost the top and sides of the entire cake.

3. Decorate as desired. You can add chocolate shavings, sprinkles, or extra frosting.

4. Slice and enjoy your delicious homemade chocolate cake!

This recipe should yield a moist and decadent chocolate cake that's perfect for any occasion. Enjoy!
