Introduction:
Myself Piyush Abrol, I am thrilled to
share my 15 days summer Internship
experience at Maruti Suzuki India
limited, one of the leading automobile
manufacturing in India. This internship
was a valuable opportunity to gain
hands- on experience in the automobile
industry and learn from the best
professional in the field.
Company
Overview:
Maruti Suzuki India limited is a
subsidiary of suzuki motor corporation,
Japan and is India’s larger passanger car
manufacture. The company was
established in 1981 and has since
become a household name in india,
synonymous with quality and reliability.
Internship
Details:
Duration : 15 days (24/07/24 to
08/09/24)
Location: Maruti Suzuki India
Limited, Udh.
Objectives:
The objectives of this internship
were to:
1. Gain practical knowledge in the
servicing of cars
2. Understand the company’s
operation and management
practices
3. Develop skills in problem
solving and treatment
Apply practical experience to real
world problems.
Work
Experience:
During my internship, I was assigned
to the servicing of cars, where I
worked under the guidance of
experienced professional Mr. Munish
Gupta.
Day 1-2 : Pre Service
Check:
Before servicing a car , it’s essential
to perform pre- service checks ,
including:
Oil and fluid checks
Battery condition and charge
Tire Pressure and condition
Brake pad and rotor condition
Air filter condition
Day 3-4: Servicing
Schedule:
Maruti Suzuki recommends the
following Servicing Schedule:
1000 km or 1 month : Oil change
and base checks.
5000 km or 3 months : Oil
change, tire rotation, and brake
pad checks
10,000 km or 6 months : Oil
change ,tire rotation, brake pad
replacement and suspension
check
15,000 km or 1 year :
comprehensive service,
including oil change , tire
rotation, brake pad replacement,
suspension checks and engine
tuning
Day 5-6: Oil
Change:
Locate the oil drain plug and
remove it
Drain the oil into a pan and
replace the plug
Refil with new oil and replace
the filter
Check for leaks and dispose of used
oil responsibly.
Day 7-8 : Tire
Rotation:
Check the pressure and adjust as
needed
Rotate tire according to the
recommended pattern
Check tread depth and replace
tyres if necessary.
Day 9-10: Brake Pad
Replacement:
Remove wheels and calipers .
Remove old brake pads and
inspect rotors.
Install new brake pad and
reassemble.
Day 11-12: Suspension
Checks:
Inspect shock absorbers and
struts for leaks and damage
Check spring and coil condition
Replace components as needed
Day 13-14: Engine
Tuning
Check and adjust ignition
timing
Check and replace spark plugs
Check and clean fuel injectors
Day 15: Post Service
Check:
After Servicing, perform post service
checks, including:
Oil and fluid checks
Tire pressure check
Brake test
Test drive to ensure smooth
operation
Conclusion
:
My summer internship at Maruti
Suzuki was a valuable learning
experience that helped me
bridge gap the between theoretical
knowledge and practical application.
I am grateful for the opportunity to
have worked with such a talented
and dedicated team and look forward
to applying the skills and knowledge
gained during this internship in my
future endeavors .
