Bài 1: Crime

In many countries, the levels of crime is increasing and crimes are becoming more violent. Why do you
think this is and what can we done about it?

Answer

In contemporary society, there is a common belief that the prevalent of crime is growing as well as
crimes have a tendency to be more and more violent in some part of the world. This essay will
thoroughly point out several reasons leading to this phenomenon, along with some efficient measures
to deal with this issue.

It is undeniable the fact that there are a wealth of causes, which contribute to the crime’s growth.
The first reason of this problem can be easily seen is dysfunctional family environment that can
result in young people engaging in antisocial behavior. If children are raised in a loving
and supportive family, they are more likely to be filled with love and have
the motivation to improve their lives, Conversely, children raised in unstable
or abusive households are more likely to develop behavioral problems, such
as violence and aggression.. In addition, excessive exposure to violent in media
consisting of TV shows, movies, video games can desensitize individuals, especially children
and teenagers, to real-life violence, potentially encouraging criminal behavior. For example,
when children become addicted to playing violent games for extended
periods, their minds can be affected, leading to delusions and a loss of
control, which may result in actions such as fighting or even killing, mirroring
the behavior seen in the games.

From the reasons mentioned above, there is no disputing that there are several effective solutions
respectively to tackle issue.involving crime. First and foremost, Goverments should allocate
budget to education systems, particularly to early childhood education programs as well as
disadvantaged areas. This helps foster cognitive and social development from a young age,
reducing the risk of children engaging in criminal activities later in life. Besides, some policies
that regulate violent or explicit content in media should be implemented by governments to limit
exposure to content that might promote or normalize criminal behavior, especially among young
people. For example, by requiring media owners to establish systems that remove
articles, photos, and videos containing violent content posted by users can
help limit exposure to negative behavior in cyberspace.

In conclusion, there are numerous reasons contributing to the increasing

complexity of criminal issues, as well as several possible measures to
address this issue effectively.
Bài 2: Culture

Bài 3: Tourism
International travel has many advantages to both travelers and the country
visited. Do you think advantages outweigh disadvantages?

Answer:

In contemporary life, tourism has received a great deal of public attention

around the world. Some people suppose that international travel has some
positive impacts on travelers as well as the host country visited. From my
perspective, This trend could have both advantages and disadvantages
equally and this essay will elaborate my reasons.

On the one hand, it is undeniable the fact that tourism brings a wealth of
benefits to the development of countries. First and foremost, this sector
plays a significant role in the economic growth of the host country through
foreign currency earned from international tourists. For instance, in 2018,
Viet Nam attracted a great deal of tourists with total revenue from them
reaching more than 620 billions , which means that Viet Nam has boosted its
income rapidly. In addition, in order to meet tourism needs of international
tourists, the governments often have to invest in infrastructure such as
roads, airports, communication systems. This benefits not only tourists but
also local residents, helps to improve their quality of life.

On the other hand, besides the merits mentioned above, there is no

disputing that the demerits of this trend should not be ignored. The first
drawbacks arising from international tourism is environmental degradation
due to pollution and the destruction of natural habitats. Once mass tourism
happens, the number of vehicles also increases, leading to a huge amount of
emissions into air, thereby causing air pollution. Furthermore, as local
cultures adapt to cater to tourists, there is a risk of losing traditional values
and practices. Local customs, traditions as well as festivals may be altered to
suit international tourist preferences, and as a results, cultural erosion could
be inevitable.

In conclusion ,although there are several worries about potentially negative

effects with environment, ecosystem, culture, the advantages in terms of
economy, infrastructure of this tendency would outweigh the disadvantages
as long as complying with government regulations.

Bài 4 : Environment
Plastic bags, bottles, and packaging are more major sources of
environmental pollution. What problems are caused by plastic waste, and
what solutions can be implemented?

Answer:

In contemporary society, there is a common belief that numerous environmental

problems are the result of the prevalence of plastic. This essay will highlight
several problems caused by plastic materials such as bags, bottles, and packaging,
along with some solutions to address them.
It is undeniable that plastic waste causes a wealth of issues related to
environmental issues. The first problem arising from plastic products is the injury
to both flora and fauna . Once plastic-made materials are thrown away soil, they
will prevent plants from growing, or marine animals can die due to eating
polymerized subtances from plastic waste dropped into sea. In addition, plastic
materials also play a significant role in environmental pollution, which consists of
air and soil. For instance, when plastic waste is burned, chemical gases such as
methane and carbon are released into the air during this process, and this has an
adverse impact on the health of citizens.
Beside the problems mentioned above, there is no disputing that there are several
effective solutions that can be implemented to tackle these environmental issues.
First and foremost, the government needs to implement an efficient policy to
replace products made of plastic with alternatives from other materials and allocate
a budget to invest in collecting and recycling plastic waste. This contributes to
limiting the use of plastic and ensures that it is treated with quality and efficiency.
Besides, each individual needs to raise awareness about the effects of plastic waste
on the environment, thereby taking action to help reduce it. For example, opting
for reusable alternatives to plastic bags, bottles, and packaging could be a feasible
way to make a positive impact.
In conclusion, plastic products contribute to the numerous environmental issues;
however, there are also several possible measures to address this issue effectively.

Bài 5: Animals
Nowadays animal experiments are widely used to develop new medicines and to
test the safety of other products. Some people argue that these experiments should
be banned because it is morally wrong to cause animals to suffer, while others are
in favour of them because of their benefits to humanity. Discuss both views and
give your own opinion.
Answer:
In contemporary life, there are some contrasting views about the phenomenon of animal testing.
Some people suppose that it has positive impacts on medical advancement; however, others
believe this action is unethical. This essay will discuss both points of view before concluding that
I am in favor of the former.
On the one hand, there is no denying that it is essential for medical advancement.
First and foremost, animal testing plays a significant role in the growth of medicine, particularly
in vaccine development and treatments for a variety of diseases. For instance, in 2020, scientists
successfully tested a Covid-19 vaccine on mice, which means that people have had a vaccine to
prevent the disease. Additionally, when testing drugs on animals, researchers can know their
effects and thereby ensure safety for humans. This contributes to considerably reducing the risks
of testing drugs directly on humans.
On the other hand, there is no disputing that it is unethical to experiment on animals.
Firstly, animal testing is inherently painful for animals. Both humans and animals on earth have
the same right to live, and animals also have sentience as well as can feel pain, so human actions
can be seen as inhumane and unfair. People do not know whether recommended vaccines are
suitable for them or not when they are only tested on animals. For example, according to cell
biologist Robin Lovell-Badge of the MRC National Institute for Medical Research in London, 94
percent of drugs that pass animal testing fail in humans who are sensitive to the drug's
ingredients.
In conclusion, from my perspective, it seems to be wrong to ban testing on animals for vital
medical research until equally effective alternatives have been developed.

Bài 6: Business
Small businesses are disappearing and being replaced by large multicultural
companies. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?

Answer:

In contemporary society, there is common belief that small corporations are

vanishing to make way for large multicultural companies. Although the
demerits of this trend can be seen at some point, its merits seems to
overlook and this essay will point out both of them.

On the one hand, it is undeniable the fact that small businesses are
gradually disappearing and being replaced bt multicultural corporations,
which brings many benefits to a country. First and foremost, comparing to
local companies, multicultural businesses with large scale of operation
require a huge number of emplyees, which means that they contribute
significantly to develop that local economy. For instance, Korean LG
corporation in a city of Viet Nam not only provides job oppotunites for people
in this city and other surrounded cities but also acts as a driving force for the
development of the electronic industry of Viet Nam. Besides, the emergence
of global companies are likely to improve considerably local public
infrastructure via the sponsorship in local projects such as bridge
construction, road constructions. This helps to boost production and save
costs during transportation of goods, at the same time, it enables residents
to improve their lives.

On the other hand, beside the benefits mentioned above, the drawbacks of
this trend could not be ignored. The first disadvantage seen from this
phenomenon is the damage to the environment due to over-exploitation of
local natural resources as well as toxic wastewater and emission by
transnational enterprises. For example, Taiwanese company Vedan in Viet
Nam discharged toxic wastewater into the Thi Vai river in Dong Nai in 2019,
this leads to serious water pollution. In addition, with the development of
international corporations, it has created fierce competition between them
and local companies to dominate the market. However, with the advantage
of huge financial resources, multicultural seem to push their opponents into
financial crisis and they even cope with the risk of bankruptcy.

In conclusion, although this development has some drawbacks, I believe that

they are outweighed by the advantages due to the increase in the
employment rate and customer satisfaction.

Bài 7:
The aging population is good for business, the economy and society. Others disagree. Discuss both views
and give your opinion

Answer:

In contemporary life, there are contrasting views about aging population in society. Some people
suppose that this tendency has positive impacts on business and the the economy of the country, while
others have the opposite opinion. This essay thoroughly discuss both viewpoints before concluding that
I am in favor of the former.

On the one hand, it is undeniable that greying population brings many benefits to business, the economy
as well as society. Firstly, in business, older employees have a wealth of experience and specialized
knowledge that they have obtained via their working long time, therefore, they can pass on to the
younger counterparts. This not only helps to improve the working collaboration between the elderly and
the youth in the company but also helps to increase work productivity and profits for the business,
which means that economic growth is boosted. In addition, aging population also makes great
contributions to society through volunteer activities, especially the elderly who have financial stability,
they are willing to contribute their labour to improve their surroundings community. For instance, in
developed countries such as America, Japan,.., the old people often take part in charity to provide
homeless people with accommodation and food.

On the other hand, it is indisputable that the drawbacks of this trend could not be ignored. Firstly,
society is increasingly developing with technology, the business needs to have a great deal of young
people who are more active and creative to keep up with the development of the world, wheras the
older employees are less active and well-updated than the young. This means that the local business
could hardly compete with international enterprise all over the world when they lack creativity and fail
to keep up with the lastest technology. Besides, once aging population is increasingly growing, the
higher unemployment rate could be unavoidable and especially young candidates who do not have
experience have to face up to this issue. For example, according to dangcongsan.vn, in 2023, with 1,12
million unemployed workers, the youth account for more than 51% and one-third of them have
university degrees.

In conclusion, while the aging population brings about stability in the general economy,
I argue that it is not the elderly but the younger individuals who are the true factors
that create innovation and development for businesses.

Bài 8: Technology
Some universities offer online courses as an alternative to classes delivered on campus. Do you think this
is a positive or negative development?

Answer:

Bài 9: Education
Full-time university students spend a lot of time studying. Some say they should do other activities too.
To what entent do you agree or disagree?

Answer:

In contemporary society, there is a common belief that full-time university students take a lot of their
time to study and some many suggest that they should take part in other activities as well . From my
perspective, I wholeheartedly agree with this point of view and this essay will thoroughly elaborate my
reasons.

It is undeniable the fact that full-time university students have been overconcentrating on studying. First
and foremost, University has rigorous demands and heavy knowledge, so in order that students want to
obtain a good record, they need to spend significant time as well as effort studying. This can helps
students have a good qualifications after graduating and thereby finding a job easily. Besides, spending
time seeking knowledge also aids a person’s thinking and thought processes, at the same time, boosts
some essential skills such as logical thinking, patience. For instance, mathematics is often beneficial to
incite a deeper state of thinking in specific individuals, just like psychology facilitates introspection.

There is no disputing that it is essential for university students to partake others activities. Firstly, By
joining other activities such as doing workout can burn the built-up fat and calories as a result of lack of
physical activities when they just sit behind the table for long hours. For example, medical experts in the
field of posture and bone damage often recommend doing some light exercise for 10 minutes after 40
minutes of stting still, and this is vital for preserving health. Besides, outside activities are also important
element of higher education consisting of participating clubs, playing team sports. This not only helps
students enhance social and soft skills, but also enables them to buil up relationship with others along
with memorable experiences.

In conclusion, I agree that beside spending too much time on academic subjects, students need to
engage in other activities and this helps them have a good academic performance but also develop
some skills as well as avoid getting diseases like illness, obesity.

Bài 10: Health

In contemporary society, frequency of a medical check-up has been receiving a great deal of public
attention. While some people are of the opinion that this phenomenon has a lot of merits for health,
others, however, have opposite view. This essay will discuss both advantages and disavantages of this
trend before concluding that I am in favor of the former.

On the one hand, it is undeniable that regular health up brings several benefits for people. Firstly, this
helps health service users be likely to detect potential risks of be de diseases that humans getting them.
For instance, according to statistics from the Ministry of Heath in Viet Nam, there have been more than
186.000 people with cancer in recent years, and 60% of them are detected and treated in the initial
Stage due to regular health check-ups, and this help enables them to achieve higher success rates in
surgery. In addition, going for medical check up regular gives us a habit, helps people feel secure about
their health, and the improved quality people’s lives is could be obvious. Because people often go to the
hospital when they know they contract a disease and they feel very scared, nervous; However, when
they go to the hospital regularly, maybe every 6 months, there is no longer worry as it this is like a habit.

On the other hand, there is no disputing that the drawbacks of this phenomenon should not be over
looked. Firstly, without government support, regular health check-up costs a certain amount of money
and is not suitable for low-income families. Because there families can only have enough money to pay
for daily living expenses while they go for a health check-up, they will have a comprehensive
examination with the support of many machines and this costs a lot of money. Besides, Once the
number of people using medical services increases, hopital will be overloaded with people, this will put
pressure on medical staff if the equipment is not improved . For example, In a day, the doctor can only
accept 10 people for examination, but according to the trend, there are up to 20 people coming the
hospital at the same time, and this leads to the lack of medical staffs and facilities to meet the needs of
people.

In conclusion, this trend has both advantages and disavantages. Although some demerits can be seen in
terms of medical examination costs, mass check-up, I believe that its merits seem to be outweigh.
