Career & Achievements
Marilyn Monroe became a household name in the 1950s and 1960s, starring in numerous films
that showcased her talent as both a comedic actress and a more serious performer. Some of her
most famous films include:

"Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" (1953) – Where she played the iconic role of Lorelei Lee, making the
song "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" famous.

"The Seven Year Itch" (1955) – Known for the legendary scene where her white dress blows up over
a subway grate, cementing her image as a pop culture icon.

"Some Like It Hot" (1959) – A classic comedy where her portrayal of singer Sugar Kane earned her
a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a comedy/musical.

Throughout her career, Marilyn acted in over 30 films. Despite being often typecast as the "dumb
blonde," she fought to show her range as an actress. Marilyn eventually established her own
production company, Marilyn Monroe Productions, to gain more control over her roles and career.
This was a bold move at the time, especially for a woman in the male-dominated film industry.
