RS422 and RS485 communication levels can physically support 32 nodes up-to a maximum distance of 1200 mtrs. The

These are a series of four kits that implement an RF (Radio Frequency) data link. Each receiver has a 4-bit address set by an onboard 4-way DIP
switch. This allows a total of 16 receivers to be used in a 'network' with each one being uniquely addressable.
The RF modules operate at 433.94MHz and use 'amplitude modulation' to transmit data. This transmission method, also know as 'On-Off Keying
(OOK)', transmits data by simply switching the carrier signal on and off. The RF transmitter and receiver modules used in these kits are available as

VIOM Controller
The VIOM is a truly versatile Input/Output Control Module. Each of its 16 outputs may be con-
trolled locally by its own inputs, timers/counters or remotely via the RS232 Serial Port. In local
mode the outputs can be controlled by an AND/OR combination of any of the inputs. In addition,
delays can be inserted before the output becomes active and then ON and OFF periods can be
defined to allow for cyclic operation. Either active high or active low can be individually selected
on each output.
Outputs may be controlled from a host via the Serial Port either individually or collectively. The
host may also interrogate the module for the current status of the outputs.
Timer/counter registers can be controlled from the inputs or the Serial Port. Thresholds can be
defined which can be used to trigger outputs. Values of the registers can be read via the Serial
Port.
Inputs can be interfaced with clean contacts or CMOS/TTL outputs and can be defined as active high or active low. They can be programmed to re-

The SOM96 Serial Output Module is designed to be used with PCs. Each module has 4 independent single pole

Gateway 800 is a protocol converter as well as the HART modem. This converts the HART digital
signal to a serial communication protocol (e.g. MODBUS). This allows various HART field devices to
interface directly with serial protocol (MODBUS) based monitoring
