I.GIỚI THIỆU PART 2 SPEAKING IELTS

1.Hình thức:
-Thí sinh sẽ được đưa một task card có ghi đề bài và những câu hỏi gợi ý.
-Thí sinh được chuẩn bị trong vòng 1 phút và có 2 phút để trình bày. Nếu thí sinh trình bày dài
hơn 2 phút, không vấn đề gì, giám khảo sẽ tự động ngắt lời thí sinh.

2.Kỹ năng cần chú ý:


-Đảm bảo được độ trôi chảy khi trả lời
-Đảm bảo được nội dung rõ ràng xuyên suốt bài nói (điều này rất quan trọng vì thí sinh được
nói tự do nên rất có khả năng sẽ nói lạc đề, nói lan man không đúng câu hỏi và hết thời gian trả
lời): thí sinh cần bám sát 4 câu hỏi gợi ý trên task card (mỗi câu trả lời 2-3 ý), riêng câu cuối
thì tuỳ thuộc vào thời gian có thể trả lời dài (câu cuối thường là câu chính của bài nói)
-Đảm bảo ngữ pháp sử dụng: cố gắng đảm bảo rằng trong bài nói có sử dụng ít nhất 1 câu bị
động, 1 câu mang MĐQH, 3 từ nối, 5 danh từ ghép. Ngoài ra, có thể sử dụng Gerunds, mệnh
đề danh ngữ,...

3.Phương pháp học


-Sưu tầm càng nhiều đề càng tốt, luyện tập trả lời các đề đó.
-Linh hoạt vận dụng các đề có nội dung gần giống nhau (vì khả năng đi thi trúng được đề part
2 là rất thấp)

II.PART 2: DESCRIBE AN EXPERIENCE/SITUATION/TIME

1.Nội dung
Đề bài dạng này thường yêu câu mô tả một trải nghiệm, một tình huống nào đó bạn đã trải qua.

Describe a time when you had a problem and someone helped you.

You should say:

● what the problem was (story-telling)


● who helped you - tên/mqh (nxet nho nhỏ)/tsao ngta biết các bạn đang gặp vấn
đề
● what this person did to help you - liệt kê các hoạt động (chi tiết)
● and explain how you felt when this person helped you.(what did you do after
that?)

3.Dạng bài cụ thể

Đề 1: Describe a time when you had a problem and someone helped you
You should say:
● what the problem was
● who helped you
● what this person did to help you
● and explain how you felt when this person helped you.

In my life, I got numerous help and useful advice and I really paid homage to them.
Among those, one of the important help I got was from one of my teachers. He
taught me Maths at high school and inspired me a lot in this subject.

I have had experience an important exam to be recognized as excellent students at


province level at Maths. I was very much eager to get a great grade to get admitted
to my dream university. My parents had great expectation as well. To choose who
will be take part in this exam, we must pass many tests. I just remember that I
crammed for them all the time, but the results didn’t meet my expectations. I felt
like I was just thrown down from a mountain and I was falling with great speed
without any hope of surviving. At that moment I noticed my teacher tried to calm
me. He assured me that everything would be fine. Then he sent me a lot of extra
exercises and gave me a hand to solve all my difficulties. To be honest, he is a
dedicated teacher that he always tried to answer my querries as soon as possible,
eventhough he was up to his ears with working stuff.

Because of the help, I got from this teacher, I had been able to get high score and
got admitted to my dream department of my dream university.The reason he helped
me is that he was a good man with a benevolent heart and goodwill. Actually, he
I felt overwhelmed and really grateful for what he did to me. The help was
unexpected and that saved me from a disaster. I felt very much happy and grateful. I
still feel grateful to this teacher and will always remember the help I got from him
that day.

Đề 2: Describe a time when you bought something for someone.


You should say:

● when this was


● what it was you bought
● who you bought it for and say how you felt about buying it for them.

Well, let me share with you a memorable experience of buying something for my
special one. I can still remember vividly that it was a sunny afternoon on my trip
last year. And my best friend’s birthday came 5 days later. So I made a decision to
buy souvenir as her birthday’s gift.

It was a nice set of makeup. And my friend was highly happy with the present. I
was in trouble while choosing the present. I did not have any idea about her
preferences. So, I collected information from her Facebook account about her
preference for gifts. I came to know that she loves branded make-up box and
accordingly, I picked the gift for her. It took a long time to select the right shades
and pieces from a branded shop.

SAMPLE ANSWERS

Đề 1:
So I have been receiving a lot of help and support from many people in my life, which I
really appreciate. But this time, I am gonna talk about the time when I got help from one of
my best and closest friends, let's just call him Jason.
So it was the time when we had just got in high school, everything was, you know, kinda new
and strange to me. I had some real problems with Chemistry, I thought that I was not cut out
for it, it was like my nightmare since I just can't figure out all those formulas, chemical
equations and reactions, some sort of things. Consequently, I got pretty bad marks in the
subject.

So Jason, a new friend sitting right next to me helped me out a lot with Chemistry. He
explained the structure of equations to me in the most simple and easy-to-understand way.
Besides, he usually helped me with my homework, well, we did video calls so that he could

made considerable progress in Chemistry, all thanks to him.
Of course I felt absolutely grateful for his help and kindness since it was not his duty to tutor
me in Chemistry. I was also extremely happy when I got better results in Chemistry short
exams. More than that, it was fantastic to have such a nice, sweet friend who is willing to
help you when you are in trouble.

So I am gonna talk about a time when I, representing the whole class, bought and gave a
present, which was a nice, local brand clutch for my teacher.
It happened just 4 months ago, it was my teacher’s birthday so my class had a plan of giving
my teacher a present for her birthday. A small and affordable one, you know, since we are all
students.
So as the monitor, I was in charge of choosing a suitable gift for my teacher, which I decided
later was a small, rectangular-shaped, leather clutch bag. The clutch was shining black
with golden-coloured logo of the brand in the front. It has a triangular flap top that makes
the clutch look like an envelope.

I felt a little bit nervous when buying the clutch, wondering if my teacher would fancy it.
Besides, I was under a lot of pressure as I represented the whole class, hence their hope and
trust was put on me and my decision. Well, it was kinda a little bit stressed out. However, I
was satisfied with the gift I chose since it seemed to be the best one at the store. Turns out,
my teacher liked it very much, she used it usually whenever she was at school, which pleased
all of us.

This can be quite hard for me since I have always been not cut out for, you know, schooling
and study stuff, but once in a blue moon, there were some lessons that caught my attention.
So I am gonna talk about an English lesson which I attended last month.
The lesson that time was about environmental protection, you know, about several alarming
environmental issues happening globally which greatly affect our lives and their
consequences. We also learnt how to mitigate the seriousity of such problems.
The teacher assigned us into small groups to discuss different topics related to the
environment to give a quick representation in 30 minutes. Our team got the topic of
endangered animals, which was quite strange for all of us, because this was not what we
usually do, you know, really talk about wild animals.
That lesson was extremely exciting and interesting to me, since I got a chance to work with
other classmates and raised my voice for a problem. I have never been a good team player,
I gotta say, but that time, I was really into the discussion with my friends. I suggested my
ideas, gave my view point and was listened to, which gave me a strong sense of recognition.
Besides, the content of the lesson was also a bright point. I like it since I do care about the
environment but hardly have opportunities to talk about it.
