Part A: Converting from Direct to Indirect Speech

1. Rewrite the sentences in indirect speech:


o She said, “I am going to the market.”

o He said, “I love this book.”

o They said, “We will finish the work tomorrow.”

o “It is raining,” she said.

o “I can play the piano,” he said.

2. Convert these into indirect speech:


o She said, “My brother is sleeping.”

o He said, “I am watching a movie.”

o They said, “We have finished our homework.”

o The teacher said, “I am proud of you.”

3. Change to indirect speech, using the reporting verb "told":


o John said, “I will go to the party.”

o She said, “I like chocolate.”
