III. TEACHING AND LEARNING PROCEDURE
Before/ Pre- Lesson Proper
A. Activating Prior Class, can you tell me the name of some things
Knowledge you can see in this room?
                       Expected Response: “Chair, Table, Blackboard”
Those names you just said are called nouns.
Nouns are names of things, places, people, and
                       animals.
I will show a picture of a park and I will ask my
students to name what they see (Ex. Tree,
                    swing, children)
B. Establishing Lesson Purpose:
Lesson Purpose Today, we will learn more about nouns. We will
discover how to identify them and use them in a
sentence. This will help us to make our
sentences clearer when we speak and write.
C. Lesson Sentence Example: The cat is sleeping on the
Language Practice chair.
I will underline cat and chair and I will
                              explain that both are nouns.
I will ask question to my students “Why do
we need nouns in these sentences?”
Expected student response: “To know what
                               the sentence is about.”
During/ Lesson Proper
A. Reading the Key “The boy is playing with a ball.”
Idea/ Stem
I will explain to my students that the word “boy”
is a noun because it is the name of a person. The
word “ball” is also a noun because it is the name
                       of a thing.
I will ask my student to repeat the sentence and
                       identify the nouns.
B. Developing Interactive Activity:
Understanding of I will show a flashcard with images to my
Key Idea/ Stem students (e.g., a dog, a tree, a house) and I
will ask my students to name what they
                               see.
For each flashcard shown, I will let my
students to write the word on the board
(e.g., dog, tree, house) and they will
                               explain that these are nouns.
Group Work: I will divide the class into
two groups and I will give each group a set
of mixed flashcards (picture and words)
and I will ask them to match the picture
with the correct words. Each group will
present their matched cards to the class.
After that I will ask each group, why the
word they matched is a noun? and I will
encourage my student to use the
sentence: “This is a noun because it is the
                               name of a _____.”
Let’s make a sentence using one of our
nouns. Can someone give me a sentence
                               using the word dog?
Expected response: The dog is barking.
I will highlight the noun in the sentence
and discuss how it is used to make the
                               sentence meaningful.
After/ Post Lesson Proper
A. Making Summary of my topic: Today we learned that
Generalization noun is the name of a person, place, animal, or
thing. We use nouns to tell others what we are
                       talking about in a sentence.
B. Evaluating I will distribute a worksheet where
Learning students will circle the nouns in each
                               sentence.
After answering the worksheet activity, I
will ask my student to share their answers
and I will correct their answers.
C. Assignment or Direction: Write 5 sentences at home, each
Additional containing at least one common noun. You
