Space study has always been a field of interest and enthusiasm for
students with an explorative bent of mind. Keeping to a similar spirit, the
pupils of Sri Ram Narayan
Singh Memorial High School had registered themselves for a East Zone
Inter School Space Quiz Competition organised by Edudigm. The event was
held on 22nd August 2024. It was followed by a similar Inter-house Space
Quiz Competition on 23rd August 2024, Friday in our school auditorium.
Each of the four houses - Surya, Agni, Neeram and Prithvi formed a team of
three students (one from VII, one from VIII and one from IX) to participate in
the competition. Students of classes VIII and IX were in the audience.
Students who came back from the main quiz on 22nd August 2024, were
addressed as SPACE AMBASSADORS. They briefed their experience and gave
certain demonstrations to the participants and the audience prior to the
commencement of the competition.
The event started with a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the rules
of the competition. It had four rounds— Direct Question, Take Your Pick,
Audio/Visual and
Rapid Fire. The quiz was conducted by one of the space ambassadors. The
scoreboard and the timekeeping was also handled by the ambassadors.
Showing tremendous knowledge in the field, the participants of Agni House
secured the first position whereas the participants of Prithvi House became
the first runners up. A Question and Answer session was held for the
audience afterwards. Posters provided by Edudigm were presented to them.
The event was wrapped with the winners getting rewarded and beautiful
photographs being taken of the winning and the runner up teams.
The purpose of holding such an event is to provide a platform for the
students to test their knowledge and be aware of their limits. It is also
expected to ignite the young minds with curiosity and stimulate them to
expand the horizons of their knowledge. The palpable energy of the
participating students and the thunderous claps of the ones in the audience,
showed the sheer interest they had taken in the event. Having been a grand
success, this will definitely hold a special place in our school calendar of the
current academic session.
