Cloud storage refers to data residing on a removable storage device and accessed via a server. Cloud data storage is
classed as ‘infrastructure as a service’.
Advantages of using cloud storage
1. Disaster recovery: When there is something wrong with your data stored in your device you can recover it from
the cloud storage.
2. Easy access of data: you can access your data anywhere with the use of internet.
3. Low cost: it is just a subscription that helps you avoid other expensive cost of keeping data
4. It is scalable: You pay per the storage you need.
5. Security: Your data is protected with password through encryption technology.
DISADVANTAGES
1. Lack of total control: You may want to edit the manner your data is stored but the cloud storage will not do that
for you
2. Difficult to move data: it is not easy to move data from one cloud storage to another.
3. Require internet: You can not access your data over the cloud without internet connection.
4. Security and privacy concern: Since your data have been handed over to a third party company you are no
longer the only one holding such data.
