Commonly Confused Words

1. There / Their / They’re


 There: Refers to a place or position.
o Example: The book is over there on the table.
 Their: Shows possession, meaning something belongs to “them.”
o Example: Their house is at the end of the street.
 They’re: A contraction for "they are."
o Example: They’re going to the park after school.

2. Your / You’re
 Your: Shows possession, meaning something belongs to “you.”
o Example: Is that your backpack?
 You’re: A contraction for "you are."
o Example: You’re the best friend I’ve ever had.

3. Its / It’s
 Its: Shows possession, meaning something belongs to “it.”
o Example: The dog wagged its tail.
 It’s: A contraction for "it is" or "it has."
o Example: It’s going to be a sunny day.

4. To / Too / Two
 To: Shows direction or purpose.
o Example: I’m going to the store.
 Too: Means "also" or "very."
o Example: I want to come, too.
 Two: The number 2.

5. Then / Than
 Then: Refers to time or order of events.

10. Who’s / Whose

11. Lose / Loose
