Today we are gathered here to celebrate sports and the beginning of an
exciting journey with our sports committee. This seminar is a great
opportunity for all the sports enthusiasts and athletes to come together,
get acquainted and learn a lot about the world or games and sports.
As we know sports have an essential part of human life since the
historical times. It has always helped us in crossing boundaries of
culture, age and even language. Whether its cricket, football or any other
track or field sport, it gives us a chance to test our limits, improves of our
physical and mental strength, helps us in growing as an individual and
also as a part of a community.
Today I Shubham, along with my co-host Ronit, on behalf of sports
committee stand before you to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome
and thanks to all the teachers, athletes and all my fellow students who
took out their valuable time to be present here today.
And also, let’s not forget the members of the sports committee, coaches,
trainers and all the supporting members who made this event possible.
So, without further ado, let me take the honour to welcome our
Chief guest for today Padma Shree awardee prof. Ravi Chaturvedi

I would like to call our chief guest, principal sir, convenor sir and the all

It is my great privilege to introduce to you our distinguished Principal,
Prof. Nachiketa Singh, who has been an invaluable asset to Shyam Lal
College Evening and the University of Delhi. With a wealth of experience
and a deep commitment to education, Prof. Nachiketa Singh has
consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and a passion for
fostering a vibrant academic environment. Under his guidance, our
college has not only recognised the importance of academics but also
embraced the profound impact that sports can have on personal growth,
teamwork and overall well-being. And so, Sports in Shyam Lal College
Evening is fostering and reaching to new heights every day since sir is
here. His visionary leadership has contributed significantly to the
college's reputation as a premier institution of higher learning. Please
join me in extending a warm welcome to our esteemed Principal, Prof.
Nachiketa Singh. I would like to call our Principal to shower us with his
wisdom and precious words.

Now I would like to take the privilege to introduce our chief guest of
today,
Prof. Ravi Chaturvedi , Padma Shree awardee and also a recipient of
Matu Shri and Khel Samrat award for being the best Hindi commentator
and as educationist offered membership by India International
Intellectual Society. Sir, is known to be first Indian sports
commentator in Hindi, covering a total of 112 test matches and 220 ODIs
apart from other sporting events. Sir has worked with channels and
groups like Star sports, ESPN, Door darshan and All India Radio. Sir is
also an author of twenty-seven books on cricket, including works like
World Cup Cricket: A Compendium and Millenium’s Greatest Indian
Cricketers. He has been on Board of Directors, Delhi District Cricket
Association (DDCA), member of Bombay Natural History Society and on
the advisory committee of The National Zoology Park. And so on, Sir has
like a never-ending list of achievements. On that note I’d like to call Prof.
Ravi Chaturvedi sir to enlighten us with his precious experience and
wise words.
