ORIENTATION 2022

WELCOME (A)
Beginnings, first days, new faces. The scary and uncertain, yet so very exhilarating ‘tomorrow’.
The onset of college in a student’s life is arguably one of its most difficult yet exciting phases.
We’re ripe into the world as young adults, with great responsibilities and bigger still
expectations. Many of us sitting here today are far away from home in a foreign land, outside
our comfort zones.

Take a moment with me and just breathe. You’ve made it. You’re sitting in one of the most
prestigious and sought after colleges in the University of Delhi, and it's only upwards from here
on out. Our esteemed institution, Sri Venkateswara College, was established in July 1961 by the
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanamas trust. The organization humbly prides itself in always being an
active and strong advocate of the holistic development of its students with an equal emphasis
on academics, sports, co-curricular and cultural activities.

I, on behalf of Sri Venkateswara College, extend a very warm and hearty welcome to our
freshers and their parents to the Orientation session of Sri Venkateswara College.

I would now like to invite the principal Prof Sheela Reddy, Convenor admission Prof Sanjay
Kumar and Coordinator Dr. Venkat Kumar to the dias.

अर्थ: - दीपक के प्रकाश को में नमन करता हूं जो वातावरण में शभ

वातावरण और मन से अनैतिक भावनाओं व नकात्मक शक्ति को नष्ट करता है । इस दीपक को जलाने से सभी

On that beautiful thought, let us now begin with the lamp lighting ceremony. Our Indian music
society, Alaap, is here with a beautiful rendition of the Saraswati Vandana to commence today’s
function with divine grace and remembrance. I would now request our Principal, Convenor
admissions and the coordinator to kindly light the auspicious lamp that signifies new beginnings.

is always on the rise. Let us now take a look at the assorted range of segments that contribute
to a student’s comprehensive growth one by one, such as the placement cell, NSS, NCC,

FAA INTRO (A)

Our college is undoubtedly the cradle of a stellar range of cultural diversity. We are committed to
our uncompromisable duty to lead the way towards inclusiveness. Being a safe space for the
expression and advancement of cultures from across and beyond India makes us who we are
today.

The Fine Arts Association of our college is the true embodiment of the institution’s inclusive
nature. It is the umbrella society for all 13 cultural societies of the college, and represents how
it’s simply a work of art when diversity amalgamates on just one stage.

CRESCENDO
Crescendo, the western music society is historically known for a fearless approach in their
endless love for music. The society, with a versatile group of musicians, is one of the oldest
most well-known Acapella groups in the DU circuit. They have always encouraged every
member to push their horizons to be better than yesterday, and we’re here to tell you that
they’ve succeeded. Members of Crescendo come from diverse backgrounds with eclectic taste
in music and represent a sound unique to themselves. With today’s Acapella performance,
where the choir uses no instruments, but their voices truly will prove to us, how Crescendo is a
society where imagination runs free.

NRITYANGANA
The Indian dance society of our college- Nrityangana- is one of the most inclusive platforms that
profoundly represents the diversity of our country. The college embraces, promotes and
provides for the propagation of all cultural values. The students of Nrityangana stand by this
ideal in the fusion dance they present next, truly defining what it means to be a leader in
accommodating cultural diversity. With dance forms like Bharatnatyam, Khatak,
Lavni,Hariyanavi, Gidda and Bhangra as well as a snippet of their annual production called
Chari, get ready to witness the whole of India right here on the stage of our college.

VERVE
The western dance society of our college work is a real spectacle to witness. The society was
adjudged as the first position at IIT Kanpur for two consecutive years, and that’s just the tip of
their herculean iceberg of achievements. As one of the oldest crews in the Delhi dance circuit,
Verve’s productions are undoubtedly one of the most sought after performances to witness
given their charisma and contagious energy. What also sets them apart is the fact that they are
self-choreographed with the steadfast intent of creating legacy and chasing perfection. Welcome
them on stage with a huge round of applause.

END/REFRESHMENTS (A)
I thank the audience for their undivided attention and constant support throughout this
orientation. May I request everyone to proceed towards the refreshment area that’s been set up
