What’s the best yarn for crochet Christmas Gnome?

Over the last year, we shared almost 30 plus crochet Gnome patterns with you!

For the first few patterns, we used different brands of acrylic yarn! And for the remaining ones we
used cotton and cotton/acrylic blend!
Nevertheless, each type of yarn has its own pros and cons! I will summarize them for you so you can
choose which yarn is best for you!

ACRYLIC YARN: This yarn is easy to work with even for beginner crocheters! It comes in a variety of
colors and in so many different weights!

For better results use a smaller hook than the one recommended on the label! As a result, your
stitches will be tighter and your crochet more neat!

COTTON OR COTTON BLEND YARN: If you are making your gnomes or toys for smaller children it
will be better to use cotton blend yarn! Best of all, it is a natural fiber and it will not get fuzzy!

Although, it may be a bit harder to work it! Most of the cotton yarns tend to split and if you are a
beginner it may cause some troubles and frustrations!

PRO TIP: Use mercerized cotton as it has a nice twist and will not split easily!

In conclusion, down below you will find a list of gnomes made with both yarns, so you can choose
better!
