Will AI replace humans?
A question we have all been asking ourselves, a question complex enough to make the most
intelligent people in the world, have a hard time finding an answer to it. The IBM stated, and I
quote: “Artificial intelligence, or AI, is technology that enables computers and machines to
simulate human intelligence and problem-solving capabilities”, so AI is a great tool, able to help
with any topic presented, for any situation or specific needs of the user. Even though it might be
really helpful, it has it’s negative impact on society, mostly on students, and the job availability.
Just like anything, it has its pros and cons. This essay will prove that even though AI may take
some human jobs or responsibilities, it will not replace humans completely.
AI will not be able to completely replace humans anytime soon. We have seen AI get really
popular in one or two years, even taking some jobs already, but tech experts aren’t worried
about that happening for now. One of the main reasons is presented by KD nuggets which said:
“As experts believe, “ AI will never get there because machines cannot have a sense (rather
than mere knowledge) of the past, the present, and the future; of history, injury or nostalgia.
Without that, there’s no emotion, depriving bi-logic of one of its components. Thus, machines
remain trapped in the singular formal logic. So there goes the “intelligence” part.” This important
information helps prove that for AI to get to the point in which it replaces humans, the
calculations or building process would have to perfect and extremely detailed, maybe something
even impossible to make at all. Besides, the way of gaining knowledge of AI is extremely
different and inferior to the human’s knowledge gaining, resulting in another flaw for the AI since
its way is based on correlation, whereas human’s, is based on causation.
AI will not take all the jobs available, and completely replace human work. The loss of jobs is a
possibility we are all afraid of, McKinsey reports stated: “By 2030, activities that account for up
to 30 percent of hours currently worked across the US economy could be automated a trend
accelerated by generative AI. Yes, it is truye AI will take up some jobs, but that also means new
will be created, for example, coding the AI, managing it, and many other options. Humans can
even learn to work or enhance their jobs with AI, using it as a tool or advantage over others who
wouldn’t use it. Forbes stated that the future of Artificial Intellegence brings endless possibilities
and applications which will simplify our lives for the better. It will probably help shape the future
and destiny of humanity, positively, whilst Bernard Marr & Co states that the transformative
impact of artificial intelligence on our society will have far-reaching economic, legal, political and
regulatory implications on all types of jobs and industries which need to be discussed and
studied.
AI work accuracy, credibility and reliability. According to AIcontentfy, Developing accurate and
reliable AI algorithms for content verification can be a significant challenge due to a number of
factors. While AI has great potential to improve the accuracy and reliability of online content,
there are a number of technical and practical issues that must be addressed in order to realize
that potential. AI is capable of changing forever how we create, consume and verify online
information. Humans are starting to create accurate and reliable algorithms for content
verification. There’s one difficulty though, AI systems currently have difficulty to understand
context and interpreting meaning in the same way that us humans can. This can make it difficult
for AI to identify sarcasm, irony, or other forms of figurative language, only used by the human
population.
In conclusion, AI is a great way to improve the human life. It has pros and cons, like anything in
this world, it is still new and has its flaws, but the advantages it gives us are simply out of this
world. Even though its really great, it will never be like a human brain, with everything we have,
AI will not replace or change humans, but the people which use AI to their advantage, definitely
will.
