Medical Camera System

surgiCam® HD and surgiCam® 4K – RD 2021-03

surgiCam® HD and surgiCam® 4K

Functional description
The camera system surgiCam® is used for data-optimized transmission of the surgical procedure and for
feeding the video signal into the hospital's data networks.
The camera system is used in live transmission for teleconsultation as well as for imaging and teaching.
During surgical procedures, camera transmission to monitors can serve to control the surgery.
Integration is possible into the surgical light systems marLED® X and marLED® E, as well as separately on the
tracking arm. Central integration in the sterilizable handle of the operating light allows simultaneous
positioning of the camera with the operating light. Installation on the separate tracking arm allows flexible
positioning in the room, close to the operating field.
The surgiCam® can be controlled directly via the sterilizable handle, via the control panel on the light head,
or via the marTouch® and marTouch® Pro control units. A sterilizable handle with disposable cover is
offered for intraoperative use.
The camera system surgiCam® is offered in the following variants:
• HD: Wired or wireless, 1,920 × 1,080 with 2 million pixels (Full HD)
• 4K: wireless, 3,840 × 2,160 with more than 8 million pixels
The surgiCam® HD/4K Wireless offers wireless transmission up to a distance of 8 m from the camera to the
respective receiver unit. Transfer to external storage media is problem-free.

In comparison to the WIFI frequencies (2.4 GHZ, 5 GHz), the 60 GHz technology offers many advantages.
Conventional frequencies transmit signals over distances of up to 100 m, but 60 GHz ensures that the
signals remain in the room. This prevents the video signals from being intercepted outside the room. In
addition, at 60 GHz the internal WIFI network is not burdened with the high data stream of the video
signals. This eliminates the need to constantly change the channel. The latency of one frame is less than
16 ms and thus not detectable by the human eye.
The wireless camera variant surgiCam® HD/4K Wireless can be retrofitted at any time.
