Why Study the Life and Writings of Rizal?

Answer - For me, the importance of why
we need to study Rizal’s doings and
especially his writing is to redirect the
lives of every Filipino, mainly the youth.
Knowing that the harsh encounter with
the Spaniards changed our perception of
how we should live as individuals here in
the Philippines. Being free and having the
freedom of speech is important for us
individually. Studying the life of Jose Rizal
is important not because it's in our
academic list, but its the input towards
the independence of the Philippines.
Knowing that he chose to fight for his
country through knowledge and the
power of letter. He noticed the continued
suffering of his countrymen at the hands of the Spaniards and sought to put an end
to this situation. He decided to improve on his personal studies to acquire
knowledge that he would, later on, pass to his people through novels and poems.
Encouraging the application of such ideals in current social and personal problems
and issues of this nation. But most of all we need to study the life of Rizal because
we need to understand all that Rizal fought and died for and to become more aware
of the ideals that our country is founded upon.
To me, the relevance of why we need to research Rizal 's doings and
particularly his writings, is to redirect the lives of every Filipino, especially the
youth.Understanding that the difficult experience with the Spaniards has
shifted our understanding about how we can behave as people here in the
Philippines. Being safe and allowing freedom of expression is essential to us
personally. Studying the life of Jose Rizal is significant not because it is part of
our academic collection, but because it leads to the freedom of the
Philippines. Knowing that, through knowledge and the strength of the text, he
decided to fight for his country. He saw the continuing suffering of his fellow
countrymen at the hands of the Spaniards and sought to put an end to this
situation. He decided to improve his personal studies in order to gain
knowledge that he would later move on to his people through novels and
poems. Encouraging the application of these values to the current social and
personal problems and concerns of this country. Perhaps first of all, we need
to research Rizal 's story, because we need to appreciate all that Rizal
struggled and died for, and to become more mindful of the ideal that our
country is founded upon.
