INTRODUCTION
Language is constantly evolving. English, in
particular, has undergone significant linguistic
changes over centuries. From Old English (5th to
11th century) to Middle English (12th to 1 5th
century), and Modern English (from the 16th
century onward), these shifts reflect changes in
society, e culture, and technology. The study of e
linguistic changes in English provides insights into
how the language adapts to new generations and
circumstances.
This project aims to explore how linguistic features
of the English language have changed over time,
focusing on phonology (sound changes),
morphology (word formation), syntax (sentence
structure), l? semantics (meaning), and lexicon
(vocabulary). The study will identify key areas of
linguistic change, providing real- life examples and
examining causes for these changes.
