Languages: English - Excellent - required

Language Remarks: Student must be able to communicate fluently in English,


otherwise his/her clerkship might be cancelled.

Clerkship Type: Clinical (rotation in a clinical department of a hospital/clinic,


such as Internal Medicine, Surgery)

Required Level of Studies: The student is required to have passed 3rd year (in 6 year
study programme). In case the study programme in your
country is longer/shorter contact us through your NEO in
order to agree on this specific situation.

Graduated students allowed: Yes (Even if accepted by the hosting country, students must be
still enrolled in university by the time the Application Form is
sent)

Clerkship Duration: 4 weeks, 6 hours a day, 5 days pe week.

Dress Code: The student has to bring his/her own white coat (not shorter
than knee lenght) and non-staining INDOOR shoes (white). If
the student does not have a white coat, plain white clothes or
scrubs are common too.
Some departments might require a white T-shirt and pants or
white scubs, inform yourself with your LC after receiving the
CA.

What to bring: a stethoscope

Academic quality: IFMSA CZ has implemented these Academic Quality


requirements to the SCOPE Certificate:
an attendance of at least 80% of workdays
filling out the handbook according to the department the
student is placed
case report (in summer - presentation with other incomings,
other months - filled in our prepared form)
filling out the Evaluation form

Contact your Contact person or LEO at specific LC in order to


get more information about academic quality activities in each
LC.

Night shifts: No

Working conditions special Working days are Monday to Friday, usually 4 - 6 hours per
remarks: day (depends on the department). In days of national holiday
you are usualy not obligated to go to the hospital (depends on
your tutor).

Students have to be be vaccinated against Hepatitis B (the


required minimum antibody level for medical workers and
medical students is 10 IU/l)

Students should be vaccinated against COVID-19 by an


EMA (European Medicines Agency) approved vaccine
(specifically, this means that the students has undergone the
complete vaccination process AND at least 14 days has passed
when the student first arrives to the Czech Republic).
If you are not vaccinated against COVID-19 and can't or refuse
to be, please inform us about this through your LEO, so we
can place you in a hospital/department, which does not
require it. Be advised, that in case there is no free spot left in
such a hospital/department, your exchange will be canceled.

According to the current preventive measures, students might


be asked to be tested for COVID before or after arrival, or to
arrive prior to their exchange in case they have to self-isolate
after arrival. The student will be contacted by their CP or
hosting LORE based on the current restrictions if necessary.
Students are responsible for fulfilling the requirements. (As of
July 1st 2023, no restrictions and/or requirements are in place.
The situation may or may not change, please check the official
information from the Czech Republic or inform at your hosting
LORE ahead of time.)

Cities remarks: 1. Please be aware that the list of your desired LCs is only a list
of preferences and we can NOT guarantee your placement in
one of the desired cities.
2. Choose 3 different cities (There are 3 LCs in Prague, choose
only one! otherwise your AF will be returned)
3. We offer a possibility to be placed with your
friend/partner/colleague in the same city (in Prague not
necessarily the same LC).
4. This request must be in your AF and we will do our best to
fulfill your request. In case of submitting this request after
you receive the CA THE REQUEST WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

(that means 1. - 30./31./28.) ! Exceptions possible after

Note that in 5th and 6th of July are work holidays and you will
not attend the clerkshio those days, these two free days will

Social Program: The social program is guaranteed only for July and August and
its organization differes according to the LC. Social Program
includes trips, cultural events or educational activities.
During the summer we offer a National Social Program
organized during the weekends. Offers for the NSP will be sent
to you in advance through your hosting LOREs. Attending the
NSP may require the student to register in advance and pay a
set fee, which is used to cover accommodation for the
participants.
During the rest of the year, activities are offered by Local
Officers and students on a personal basis.
There is a limited social program in February and June due to
exams.

If accomodated in a student flat, cash advance in amount of


1000CZK (or aproximate amount in euros) may be required
uppon arrival. If not used for any accident coverage (lost keys,
property damage...) this deposit will be fully returned by the
end of a clerkship.
Please note we can NOT provide or search accommodation for
any
friends/partners/relatives.

Most of our Local Commitees can offer a possibility of


boarding in a hospital or student canteen for student prices.
The amount of pocket money can be different at each LC.

Payment details for unilateral Payment must be done BEFORE THE ARRIVAL preferably via
fee: bank transfer. If this is not possible, please contact the hosting
LCs LEO/CP (whose email address you will find in the CA).

The payment must be finalized 2 weeks before the start of the


exchange latest. After sending the payment, send a bank
note(receipt) to the LEO.

Not paying the fee in time will result in cancellation of the


exchange.

Visa Requirements: Tourist Visa


Student Visa

Visa requirements remarks: Student is responsible for getting his/her own visa. First of all
you have to arrange an appointment at the Czech
embassy in your country.
This appointment should be at least 1,5 month before the
exchange, in some contries earlier. For a visa application we
can provide an official signed and stamped Invitation Letter
from our organization or we will try to provide you with any
additional documents required for reaching your visa. Make
sure to contact us through your NEO early enough before
your embassy appointment !

keep in mind, we can´t tell you so much specific details as
embassy itself

Application Form Special GENERAL RULES FOR APPLICATION FORM


Remarks: !! Application forms for June, July and August must be
submitted before the March Meeting (End of February) !!
Please note our capacity for January, February June and
September could be limited.
Be aware that the list of your desired LCs is only a list of

Please fill out your names and passport number as stated
in your passport. New Invitation Letters won’t be issued
for students who failed to enter their name and passport
number correctly!

CARD OF DOCUMENTS
We ask to upload ALL documents in PDF or JPEG format! All
documents must be in English!

Vaccination card - to be sent with the AF


Health Insurance - to be sent with the CC
HepB Antibodies count - to be sent LATEST with the CC ,
the test cannot be older than 2 months before the desired
start of the exchange (will be requested if needed)
Tuberculin test - to be sent LATEST with the CC , the test
cannot be older than 2 months before the desired start of the
exchange (will be requested if needed)
COVID-19 Vaccination certificate - ideally, the document
should contain a European Union QR code of the certificate
(but it is not necessary) .

For all the health reports you need to use our template, other
documents will not be accepted!

Immunization requirements: The following vaccinations are mandatory for all medical
students in the Czech Republic – as such, all incoming
students must provide the respective documents:
Hepatitis B (confirmation of vaccination, or a document
stating that they have sufficient HepB antibodies count). The
last dose has to be administered at least 4 weeks before the
exchange starts.
COVID-19 (vaccination certificate).

Additionally, the following vaccines are included in the


children vaccination scheme, and therefore are highly
recommended for incoming students:
MMR vaccine (measles, mumps, rubella), DTP (diphtheria,
tetanus, pertussis), Polio , Haemophilus Influenzae B , BCG
(tuberculosis – for children born 2000 and earlier), Varicella
(for those who did not have the virus as children).

Please note that some departments (especially for clinical


research-oriented projects) may require specific vaccinations.
If so, your hosting LORE will inform you.

Insurance:

Insurance Remarks: We are buying a professional malpractice & liability insurances


for all incomings. Consequently you are not obligated any
more to organize these insurances by yourself. The health and
travel insurance is still on your own responsibility.

Card of Documents Deadline: 12 weeks

Card of Documents Special Card of Documents must be completed and sent with AF
Remarks: (mandatory documents). Other standart documents are
required at least 4 weeks before exchange. Ask your
contact person to get information about the special
documents.

We uploaded a template of Form for Doctors, you don't have


to fill out every single page, just the ones asked for in the Card
of Documents. The rest might be required depending on the
LC and department.
Immunization record - use Vaccination Report
HepB Antibody count - use Hepatitis B antibodies count report
Tuberculosis test - use Tuberculin test report

All of the documents must be in English ! If you don't have a


possibility to get the vaccination card or HepB Ab count in
English ask your contact person or LEO of the specific LC to get
our forms to just fill in by your doctor.

We ask to upload ALL application documents in PDF or JPEG


format.

Some departments can require specific additional documents !


Follow instructions from your LEO after recieving your CA.

Please note your photo (2x) as upon arrival document has to


be in a passport size (4,5 - 3,5 cm) !
Student must have a full health insurance (in amount required
by specific department) for the period of the clerkship.

Remarks:

Card of Confirmation Special Card of Confirmation must be sent 4 weeks before the start of

Substitutions: We prefer substitutions to cancellations

Substitutions Special Remarks: Substitutions must be reported to the NEO at least 4 weeks
before the start of the clerkship !!! Substitutes must be for the
same period, department and at the same LC and the same
gender. Substitute must provide all required documents
before arrival.
Students need to chose the same departments as the previous
student in their AF.
