Lessons
1. Simplicity in writing is key for copywriting, as it helps to clearly convey the message
and sell the product or idea. Using overly complex language or trying to sound overly
fancy can actually hinder the effectiveness of your writing. Instead, focus on getting
your point across in a clear and concise manner. It is important to remember the goal
of copywriting is to persuade the reader, not to impress them with flashy language.
Avoid overthinking the language and sentence structure and focus on getting the
message across in a simple and effective way. With that being said, simplicity doesn't
mean a lack of effort, still put in the work and effort in your writing, but keep it simple
for better results.

2. When reaching out to prospects, it's important to put yourself in their shoes and
understand their perspective. Imagine a busy individual who is constantly running a
business, with little time for themselves or their family. Now imagine that this person
takes a moment to relax and enjoy a meal, only to be approached by a stranger who
starts telling them an unsolicited, overly long story, giving fake compliments and
ultimately trying to sell them something. This person wants directness and honesty,
not to be bullshitted or have their time wasted. Keep this in mind when reaching out
to prospects and focus on offering something genuinely beneficial, rather than simply
trying to make a sale. Avoid using insincere compliments and instead present your
offer in a clear and concise way, showing that you understand their needs and
concerns.

3. To be successful in sales and reaching out to prospects, it's important to understand

that they may not be initially invested in your offer. To capture their attention and
interest, it's crucial to differentiate your approach and make it clear how your offer will
be beneficial to them. It's important to express the value that your offer provides,
clearly and concisely, using a language that they will easily understand. Avoid
common mistakes such as not providing enough information on the benefits of your
offer, using overly complex language, and using uninteresting or irrelevant stories. If
you want to be successful in your outreach, it is necessary to focus on highlighting
the value of your offer and how it will help your prospect.

4. When reaching out to prospects, it is important to understand that their primary focus
is on how your offer will benefit them. They may not be interested in your personal
story or background, and basing your outreach on this will not be effective. Instead, it
is crucial to have a clear and specific purpose for every line in your outreach
message, making sure that it highlights the value that your offer brings to them.
Create an attractive and compelling offer that they would feel foolish to refuse. Take
the time to review your email aloud, and put yourself in the prospect's shoes and
determine if you would be convinced by your own offer. It's vital to strive to
differentiate yourself in your approach to reach out and make an impact that stands
out and have better results, Remember that the more you want it, the faster it
happens.

Guide on copywriting (under 18)

As a young copywriter, it can be challenging to present yourself as professional and
experienced. However, by following certain guidelines and putting in the effort, you can
establish yourself as a credible and skilled copywriter.

When it comes to your appearance, it's important to strike a balance between looking
professional and approachable. Opt for a more casual suit style, with a white shirt and open
button. Make sure your hair is well-groomed, and invest in a high-quality camera for video
calls. This will help you look more polished and confident during client interactions.

Confidence is key when it comes to copywriting, as clients are more likely to work with
someone who sounds sure of themselves. Practice your pitch and don't be afraid to reach
out to new prospects. Remember that there are plenty of clients out there, and one rejection
is not the end of the world. Be polite and professional at all times and don't be afraid to walk
away from a client if the deal doesn't feel right.

Consider using a whiteboard or other visual aids during client meetings to demonstrate your
expertise and professionalism. This can help to convey your ideas more effectively and
make you appear more experienced.

When it comes to payment, consider using a third-party service such as PayPal, Wise, or
Stripe. It is important to not use your own name to avoid any issues with age restrictions. It
may be helpful to enlist the help of a parent or guardian to assist with financial matters.

One common challenge for young copywriters is coming up with creative and sophisticated
language. To overcome this, try writing your text in plain language first and then use online
tools such as Grammarly or QuillBot to find synonyms and more interesting words to replace
them with. Remember to save any noteworthy words or phrases you come across for future
reference.

It's important to remember that mistakes in grammar are common for young writers, but
there are tools such as Grammarly or QuillBot that can help you identify and fix errors.
Another important aspect is valuing yourself and your work. Everyone is different, and there
is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to determining your rates or pricing structure.
It's essential to know your worth and only work with clients that you believe will benefit from
your help. Additionally, it's important to remember that you don't have to agree with
everyone's methods and you can develop your own perspective.

In summary, by following these tips, you can present yourself as a professional and
experienced copywriter, regardless of your age. By focusing on your appearance, language,
and confidence, and valuing yourself, you will be able to establish yourself as a credible
copywriter and increase your chances of landing high-paying clients.

Another important tip is to be always learning and developing your skills. Copywriting, like
any other profession, is a constant learning process and the industry is constantly evolving.
Stay updated with the latest trends and techniques, as well as understanding your target
audience. Keep a portfolio of your work, it helps to showcase your abilities and style of
writing.

Additionally, consider networking and collaborating with other copywriters or professionals in

the industry. This can provide valuable opportunities for learning and growth, as well as
potential clients and referral sources.

It's also important to remember that age should not be a barrier to success in copywriting.
With hard work, dedication, and the right approach, you can achieve your goals and build a
successful career as a copywriter. So, always be confident and don't be afraid to reach out
and pursue opportunities as they arise.

Another important tip to keep in mind is to focus on providing value to your clients. Instead
of just trying to sell them on a product or service, focus on how you can help them solve their
problems or achieve their goals. This can help you to stand out from other copywriters and
build stronger relationships with your clients.

When crafting your copy, be sure to use persuasive and powerful language. This means
avoiding passive voice and weak words, and instead using strong verbs and compelling
phrases that capture the reader's attention and persuade them to take action.

It is also important to be aware of the different types of copywriting such as direct mail,
brochures, web pages, and email. Knowing the different formats and what works for each
one will help you to be a more effective copywriter.

Finally, be prepared to put in the work and hustle to build your client base. Even with the
best skills and portfolio, it will take time and effort to land high-paying clients. Be persistent,
flexible and always be willing to go the extra mile to deliver quality work to your clients.
Remember, with time, dedication and the right approach, you can build a successful career
as a copywriter under 18.
