INTRODUCTION

In today's health-conscious and sustainability-focused market, consumers are increasingly

seeking nutrient-dense, locally grown foods with minimal environmental impact. Our startup,
UrbanMyco, aims to revolutionize urban agriculture through innovative vertical mushroom
farming. By utilizing unused urban spaces and implementing cutting-edge cultivation techniques,
we will produce premium gourmet and medicinal mushrooms year-round. Our focus will be on
high-value varieties such as Lion's Mane, Reishi, Oyster, and Shiitake mushrooms, catering to
restaurants, health food stores, and direct-to-consumer markets.

The global mushroom market is projected to reach ₹15,00,00,00,000 by 2025, growing at an

8.3% CAGR, driven by increasing demand for plant-based proteins and natural health
supplements. With a ₹2,25,00,000 investment, our startup will establish a state-of-the-art vertical
farming facility using advanced mycology techniques and automated climate control systems.
We aim to achieve profitability within 18 months of operations.

The traditional agriculture industry faces challenges with land availability, water usage, and
seasonal limitations. Vertical mushroom farming addresses these issues by utilizing vertical
space efficiently, requiring minimal water, and operating independently of weather conditions.
Our approach reduces transportation costs and carbon emissions by growing fresh mushrooms
close to urban centers, while also converting agricultural by-products into valuable mushroom
substrate.

MARKET POTENTIAL

The mushroom market has seen explosive growth, particularly in the functional food and natural
medicine sectors. Health-conscious consumers and the growing plant-based movement have
created strong demand for high-quality mushroom products. The rise of functional mushrooms in
supplements, coffee alternatives, and wellness products has opened new market opportunities.

Our target customers include:

 High-end restaurants and chefs seeking fresh, exotic mushroom varieties

 Health food stores and wellness centers
 Natural supplement manufacturers
 Direct-to-consumer sales through farmers' markets and subscription boxes
 Food processing companies specializing in plant-based products

The competitive landscape is currently dominated by traditional mushroom farms and small-
scale growers. Our vertical farming approach, combined with scientific cultivation methods and
automation, will allow us to produce higher yields with consistent quality year-round.
