ABSTRACT
In nowadays it is a very difficult task for the government to conduct free and fair polls in the country. Crores of
rupees have been spent on this to make sure that the elections are riot-free. But, now- a -days it has become
common for some forces to indulge in rigging which may eventually lead to a result contrary to the actual
verdict given by the people. This paper aims to present a new voting system employing biometrics in order to
avoid rigging and to enhance the accuracy and speed of the process. In our system, we are using fingerprint
sensors for authentication purposes as we know that every human has different Fingerprints So we can easily
identify the personal details. That means this system is better than present-day voting systems. During elections,
the fingerprint of a voter will be entered as input to the system. Then we will compare this input with our
database. If the user's data is available in our database, then we will grant access to the user for casting the vote.
But in case the record is not matched our database then we will reject this vote and the same for repeated users
also. Also, we will send this alert to nearby police. All the systems are connected to the network so all data will
be store in to our hosting. The result of voting will be generated on the admin portal in statistics form.

INTRODUCTION
Personal attributes are measured and analyzed using biometrics technologies. Fingerprints, speech patterns, hand
dimensions, irises, and other traits are all used to identify human characteristics and authenticate identity. These
biometrics or qualities are inextricably linked to a person and cannot be readily forgotten, transferred, stolen, or hacked.
These features can be used to uniquely identify a person, replacing or enhancing traditional security measures with two
significant advantages: personal biometrics cannot be easily stolen, and individuals do not have to memorize passwords
or codes. Due to the ease with which passwords and pins can be compromised, biometrics provides an alternative and
higher level of security. Incorporate and public security systems and applications, biometric verification is becoming
more common. During elections, we propose a system in which the general public votes using biometric fingerprint
voting. Based on registered fingerprints, the system records votes. It's a graphical user interface for increasing
productivity and automating business processes. The automated method of determining whether two human
fingerprints are identical is known as fingerprint authentication.
Research 1: First-Past-The-Post (FPTP)
The Starting Point the Post system is the most basic form of plurality/majority system. The voter is given the names
of the candidates who have been nominated and has the option of voting for only one of them. It allows voters to
choose between two or more political parties.
The United Kingdom and countries historically influenced by Britain use First Past the Post (FPTP) voting
systems.In a first-past-the-post election, the victorious candidate is simply the one who receives the most votes. In
principle, if every other candidate received only one vote, a candidate may be elected with two votes. Changes to
this rule result in the Block Vote, the Two-Round System, or the Single Non-Transferable Vote, which are discussed
in further depth under Block Vote, Two-Round System, and Single Non-Transferable Vote. However, in the early
1990s, Nepal utilised a modification that may be classified as FPTP. Candidates ran under a party emblem rather
than as individuals due to the low literacy level of much of the electorate. Rather than choosing between candidates,
voters choose between parties. Candidates seeking office might run in multiple districts if they so desired. Any
candidate who is elected to two or more seats must then decide which district they will represent. To fill the vacated
seats, partial elections were held. [1]

Research 2: Ballot Paper
This approach operates in such a way that each voter marks or crosses the box on which he wants to vote. This
system will select a certain candidate from each political party. Candidate selection is simple. It's a lot more secure
than FPTP.
A ballot is a device that is used to cast votes in an election. It can be a piece of paper or a tiny ball that is used for
secret voting. It was initially a tiny ball (see blackballing) used in Italy in the 16th century to record voter decisions.
A single ballot is used by each voter, and ballots are not pooled. A ballot can be a simple scrap of paper on which
each voter writes the name of a candidate in the simplest elections, but governmental elections employ pre -printed
ballots to safeguard the votes privacy. At a polling location, the voter places their ballot in a box. [2]

Research 3: Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs)
Electronic Voting Machines are electronic voting machines that help or take care of the casting and counting of votes.
The control unit and the balloting unit are the two parts of an EVM. A cable connects these units together. The
presiding officer or the polling officer is in charge of the EVM's control unit. The balloting unit is kept in the voting
compartment so that voters can cast their ballots. This is done so the polling officer can confirm your identity. Instead
of issuing a ballot paper, the polling officer will press the Ballot Button on the EVM, allowing the voter to vote. On the

machine, there will be a list of candidate names and/or symbols with a blue button next to it. The voter can vote by
pressing the button next to the candidate's name.[3]

Purposed System:Biometric Voting System (BVS)
This biometric voting system is based on a fingerprint module, which is a very unique way of identifying each voter.
Among all other systems, this system will provide extremely high security. It has the potential to make results available
in the central server quickly and easily.
Introducing biometric registration kits for voter enrollment; employing electronic voter identification devices before
and on Election Day and issuing voter identity documents (i.e., biometric voter cards) are all examples of biometric
voting projects.Assessment feasibility studies, securing funding, reviewing legislation, conducting pilot projects and
mock registration exercises; procurement; distribution of equipment, installation, and testing; recruitment and training
of staff; voter information; deployment, and post-election audits are typically the stages of implementing a biometric
voting registration project.
The ultimate goal of using biometric election technology is to achieve de-duplication of the voting register, eliminating
double voter registration and voting, improving voter identification at polling stations, and reducing voter fraud (e.g.,
buying/renting voter IDs before an election).
However, it is critical that commissions responsible for these election projects first ensure that the legal framework
supports biometric voter identification, and then ensure that the data collected during the registration process is secure
while meeting two basic requirements: personalization and privacy. In the event that biometric systems fail, it is also
critical to have backup plans in place. One of the most difficult tasks is to ensure that no voter is disenfranchised in the
case of technology glitches or malfunctions.

Finger print is considered as one of the most popular biometric method used for human recognition. Every recognition
in the globe is or with unique fingerprint and even twins are born with totally different finger print and is naturally
unchangeable throughout the life. For that reason, finger print voting system has been made and person ID has been
replaced with finger print. This finger print voting system is evaluated and implemented successfully. The evaluation of
the system is made using different PCs with different specifications in order to stand on the system strength and
weakness. The final result of finger print voting system is significant and compatible with other voting systems.
