 INTRODUCTION
Usage of Electronic Home Appliance

MEANING:

A Home appliances, also referred to as domestic

appliances, an electric appliances or a household
appliances, is a machine which assists in household
functions such as cooking, cleaning, and food
preservation. Appliances are dividing into three types:
 Small appliances;
 Major appliances, or white goods; and
 Consumer electronics or brown good.
This categorization is reflected in the maintenance
and repair of these types of products. Brown goods
typically require high technical
Knowledge and skills, while white goods may need
more practical skills and force to manipulate the device
and heavy tools required to
Repair them.
Definition:
The term home appliances can be defined as,
“a device or apparatus or equipment designed to
perform an application or task, other than industrial,
benefited in our personal life that uses some kind of
technology”.
 SCOPE AND IMPORTANCE

Home appliances refer to a piece of equipment,

usually electrically, used especially in home or for the
performance of domestic chores such as cooking, cleaning,
or food preservation. It is also known as domestic
appliances which majorly involves white goods such as
refrigerators, air conditioners, Dish washers, Cloth dryers,
drying cabinets, freezers, kitchen stoves, water Heaters, and
washing machines etc., They are available in various
distribution channels such as super markets & amp: hyper
market, specialty store, e-commerce & others.
Technological advancement in this segment and the rise
consumer Disposable income are expected to drive the home
appliances market over the predicted years. Also, high living
standards, improved quality of life, and easy “USE OF HOME
APPLIANCES” such as smart functionality, elegant design,
sustainability, diversity and effectiveness are predicted to fuel the
market during the forecasted years.
The home appliance segment is one of the fastest-growing
industries in the Indian market. Home appliances have been
increasing at a study pace, driven both large appliance & small
appliance in 2018; large appliances have slightly higher growth
than small appliance. Most categories within home appliances saw
both retail volume and current value growth in 2018.The sector
has a vast and tapped market for appliances, like Air conditioners,
Washing machines & fridges. The air conditioner has a
penetration 4% .In India has compared to the global average of
30%. The emerging economy and changing lifestyles of Indian
consumer have been leading to growth in the no. of working
people, nuclear families, single- person households, and the
migrating of the job populations. Therefore, these developing
households have an increasing need for accessibility is looking for
products that offer convenience and considerably reduce the time
and effort spent on everyday chores. The main growth drivers for
these industries are increases affordability, focus on energy-
efficient products, increase in digital penetration, and the rise in
aspiration. India has seen significant changes in its policies,
especially those related to the regulatory and business
environment. The appliances sector and the upcoming National
Policies for Electronics {NPE} may bring about significant policy
changes for the industry.
Industrialization has unheard in dramatic as well as
uneven Transformation In world society. It has altered the
technological pattern and work process of the pre- industrial
ways of life. This socio- technological revolution has changed
the domestic ways and means of dealing food provision
clothing cleaning and medical care.
In the market of the kitchen and home appliances is
ranked among the fore runes in industry annals. The variety of
such appliances also astounds many. Industry machines and
dish washers, vacuum cleaners have taken out a physical strain
from homemakers. In this age, where times money, we cannot
focus around our kitchen home performing daily chooses
throughout the day.
The awareness of the advantages of home appliances over
developing economies and expanding urbanization are anticipated
To boost the home appliances market. Attractive offers by online
retailer’s power innovation for AI– driven gadgets, and significant
investments towards acquisition and product development are
growth opportunities for the market. In developing nations,
including India, the increasing spending capability due to rising
average, dual– household incomes will play a crucial role in
boosting the demand for consumer electronics

ACTIVITY CONDUCTED

I Conducted survey on “usage of electronic home appliances” in

my locality i.e., VINCHPET.

I collected information regarding my topic from the people in my area.

My experience:

It was a good experience. At first, I had no idea how to conduct a survey and
communicate with people. After approaching 3 to 4 members, I learnt how
to communicate with people.

People in my locality co-operated well by answering the questions regarding

my topic.
I discussed with the people about the “USAGE OF
ELECTRONIC HOME APLLIANCES” and its uses, that how it
is changing the life of the people and how it is playing an important
role in our daily tasks, and we also discussed about its benefit and
harms that could sometimes occur by using it.
1) By doing this project I know about electronic home appliances.
2) they explained me how they use appliance and their methods
3) They told about how they the market is getting price and its
demand.
4) I also learnt that home appliance plays a major role in their
lives.
5) They treat me well, when I went to do survey around them.

SUGGESTIONS
1. If Computers have to be left on, the monitor
should be turned off

2. When devices like TV, Computers and audio systems are

not in use, the power should be switched off

3. Screen savers on computers screens are not energy

efficient. Shutting computers down when not using them
reduces the system wear and saves energy.

4. Regularly defrosting manual- defrosts refrigerators and

freezers make them more energy efficient.

5. There should be enough space left between a

refrigerators and the walls so that air can be easily
circulate between them.

6. Refrigerators doors seals should be airtight.

7. Avoid putting hot or warm food straight into the
refrigerator.

8. Washing machines should be used only with

full loads.

9. Air conditioners having automatic

temperature cut off should be preferred.

10. Doors and windows should be sealed

properly

11. Planting trees or shrubs to shade air

conditioning units makes them useless
electricity than the same one operating in the
sun.
 CONCLUSION
At the end of our community service project after
asking the entire questionnaire. I came to know
that people use electronic home appliances out of
necessity even if they are not affordable. This is
because they found to be useful even indispensable
for carrying out the household activities.
After analyzing both sides of the situation, it is
not hard to see that home appliance have both
merits and demerits. However, in my opinion, their
merits outweigh their demerits. Also, by using
them properly and incorporating some physical
activity into our daily routine you can get around
many off the problems posted by them.
