SPEAKING PART 2

Describe a person you know who loves growing plants (trees, flowers, fruits and vegetables)

None of my friends and neighbours grow plants, but my grandfather who is hands down one of the best
gardeners.

He's a well-educated man in his sixties. Well, although his speciality is engineering, he has an extensive
knowledge of gardening. Honestly I love the fact that he plants trees and grows a multitude of flowers
in a way that is so stunning. He plants a variety of trees such as apple trees 🍏 🍎, lemon trees🍋 and
mango trees 🥭. So, his house is surrounded with a number of different, colourful flowers and trees, and
that creates an amazing, welcoming environment, which I think is excellent. This is also one of the best
possible ways to live close to nature.

My grandfather every time says "Plant trees, flowers, fruits and vegetables as many as possible around
your house since they evoke positive feelings. They also create a healthy environment in which you
inhale and exhale." Yeah, he is absolutely right. In such a magnificent place, not only can we put
ourselves in a good mood, but also we can keep fit. This is mainly because I'm gonna take on that
characteristic of my grandfather, and I'd like to do the same thing when I settle down.

All in all, this is the person who is passionate about gardening.

SPEAKING PART 3. “FARMING”

1. Do you think farming is important? So if yes, should governments make investments into farming ?
Yep, I do believe agriculture is exceptionally important for some reasons.
One of them is it can provide job opportunities for locals in the countryside. Basically, farming is a main
source of income for many families in villages.
On top of that, when people harvest more crops, it can positively affect the economy of a country. Coz,
governing bodies can export food products/commodities to foreign countries. So, it can lead to positive
economic developments.

Yeah, governments should make investments into farming

2. What are the differences between modern and traditional farming?

Well, I believe there are lots of noticeable differences between them.
One of which is intensive crop cultivation. You know, in the past, people mostly used to do manual
work since there were not enough technologically improved tools and machinery. But now, it's really
commonplace. People make use of advanced technologies to develop crops faster.
Another main difference is getting more crops from less space, I guess. This is also because of
technological advancements and qualifications of today' farmers.
3. Do you think climate change is influencing food production in any way?
Of course, climate change can adversely affect the production of food in some specific places.
For example, when there are extremely high temperatures, soil fertility can be affected badly, meaning
that the crop yields may not be large enough.
What's more, climate change is very likely to lead to lack of rain so that some specific crops may not
grow well, this can also make the process of growing crops difficult.

4. How will technological and scientific improvements affect food production?

it could be both a positive and negative development.

When there are technological improvements, the quantity of yield can be risen significantly. So, it's a
positive change. Coz, this can help to get rid of hunger and starvation on a global scale.

That being said, lots of farmers may start using some chemical fertilisers and pesticides to produce
crops as quickly as possible. So, the quality may not be as good as before. It's definitely negative.
