Dear Jack
I hope you are still healthy and everything is good. Thank you because you wrote this
letter to me, to day I write this letter to tell you about the festival that I love the most in
my county.
In my country there are many big festivals, but the festival that all people always expect
every year is also the festival that I love the most is the traditional New Year
Traditional Tet stems from wet rice civilization, when people live mainly on agriculture.
The festival marks the end of the cultivation cycle and to thank the gods for a bumper
season.
In the days before Tet, families often wrapped banh chung and banh tet - two traditional
dishes typical of Tet. Besides, the tray of five fruits is displayed on the altar with all kinds
of different fruits, each is mean Meaning good luck, health and fortune. In the final count
of the old year, every home will reunite together to watch the fireworks and welcome the
first day of the new male.
On New Year days, people will wear a long dress and red is a lucky color for the new
year and children will receive lucky money from adults and wishes.
I hope you can come to Vietnam to attend the traditional Tet holiday once to be able to
immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Vietnamese people.
See you soon,
Thanh tam
