Hi mom,
bob and i arrived at cooper's hill, gloucester, england yesterday. It's the hill where
the cheese-rolling festival is held annually on the last monday of may. Fences
have been carefully removed and set aside. Undergrowth on the hill has been cut
and flattened. The hill has been scanned for stones and other dangerous objects
which have been removed. Luckily, the weather has been ideal, it's not too hot
nor too cold, and there is no rain.
The festival starts at 12 so we didn't need to get up early this morning.
I have to go now.

Mom,
yesterday was the most exciting and memorable day of my life!
Just after 10:00, thousands of spectators arrived and filled the hill. The
competitors, including bob, gathered at the top of the hill. The race started at
12:00. The mc held the cheese and counted down to the start of the race “one to
be ready, two to be steady, three to prepare and four to be off.”

He rolled the cheese and all competitors ran very fast to catch the cheese. Some
tumbled more than ran. You know? I shouted for joy the whole time saying “come
on. Catch that cheese!” And so did other spectators. It’s really exciting and
noisy. And i couldn’t believe in my eyes when i saw bob arrived at the foot of the
hill first after catching the cheese. He won. I screamed and jumped for joy.
Wow, i am still very excited. We are going to have a party to celebrate his win, so
bye for now.

My favourite festival is also one of the greatest buddhist festivals in the northern part of
vietnam. That's huong pagoda festival

I have a chance to take part in songkran festival – the water festival and i really like it.

thailand and it takes place from april 13th to 15th

Huong pagoda festival is held to worship a princess named dieu thien who insisted on
leading a religious life. It is also a chance for vietnamese people to return to sacred land
to wish for happiness and luck.

For thai people, songkran festival is the time of fun to welcome the new year and show
the respect for water - the most important element in the agricultural culture of
southeast asia.

including climbing up the top of huong tich mountain or rowing boats along yen stream.

On the night before holi festival, people lighted a bonfire and gathered around it, sang
and danced happily together. This ritual is called holika dahan. It was lots of fun.

At the end of the morning, all people looked like a colourful picture. It was a really
awesome experience to me.
