Bizarre Bazaars
Flik Silverpen’s Guide to Bizarre Bazaars (FSG 28) is a collection of four unique
magic item shops, their strange owners, and even more unusual merchandise.
The shops in this guide are easy to insert into any adventure as a way for the
players to spend some money, grab some fun magic items, and interact with a
weird NPC or two. The items don’t need to be attached to their respective shops
either. They can be individual quest rewards, handy pickpocket loot, or found in a
random treasure chest.
Each magic item has a simple description to explain its intended effect. It should
be easy to adapt the description into straightforward mechanics for whatever
fantasy TTRPG you are playing. If the power of an item is too strong, feel free to
change its effect or make it a one-time or rarely available feature.
This guide is intended to be a helpful resource for your table. Have fun rewarding
your players with these fun magic items!

Sibyl’s Spellbound Shoppe
The caddy corner walls, crooked roof, and darkened windows of this smoke-filled
storefront seem out of place on the busiest intersection of the bazaar. Despite
its outwardly gloomy appearance, Sibyl’s Spellbound Shoppe is often filled with
disguised customers seeking a hex, vex, or cursed artifact.

The interior of the shop smells of burnt flowers and old books. There are no shelves,
tables, or any inventory on display. Instead, Sibyl pulls her special spellbound items
from a single enormous cauldron resting over a purple fire in the middle of the shop.

Sibyl enjoys maintaining an air of mystery and guile. She often offers items to
adventurers alongside cryptic premonitions like, “I sense an animalistic danger in
your future. Take this beastly transformation philter, you will need to drink it soon.”

another creature anywhere in the world.

4
Two of a Kind
These debonair elven twins have assembled a carefully curated collection of combos. Every
magic item is some sort of clever pair meant to impress and delight.

Edwen and Tatya are identical twins who are impossible to tell apart. They speak in unison
and mimic each other’s movements as if they were a reflection in the mirror. Their shop is
simple, classy, and strangely symmetrical.

They sell pants, goggles, earrings, and tongs. Anything that comes in a pair, including these
duos of the more magical variety:

Recovered Relics
This small and stinky shack is at the farthest edge of the bazaar. Customers are
rare, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t interesting items inside. The proprietor,
Bud (short for Budget), is an enterprising ratfolk who is keen to strike a deal, even if
means downplaying some of the less desirable effects of his wares.

Bud ventures into the Plague Wastes every couple of months to search the ruins for
discarded magic items. Luckily, Bud is naturally immune to poison so venturing into
the dangerous wastes is no big deal for him. Unluckily, the magic items he retrieves
still have some poisonous residue left over so he’s usually forced to sell them at a
steep discount.

Bud’s Bargains
None of the Recovered Rel

Farin’s Floating Fandangles
Farin Stonefoot retired from working the Amberhammer Mines years ago. He prefers
spending his time with his head in the clouds, quite literally. Farin floats through the
bazaar attached to his net filled with floating items for sale.

Farin is a happy-go-lucky salesperson who enjoys sharing the gift of flight with
his customers. He takes particular interest and asks way too many questions of
adventurers with a natural ability to fly.

What’s with the anchor around his ankle? “One time I got my hands on a winged
buckler. Sent me soaring over the Dream Crags for days and days! Now this here
anchor keeps me nice and grounded when I need to be.”

broom doesn’t like to be ridden and

griffin). However, it does enjoy sweeping
up messes.

Make sure one end is always tied to
something or say goodbye to this 50 foot
length of normal-looking rope.

Orb of Void Goo

shoulder. The goo nullifies spell effects but
randomly disappears for days at a time
(roll D6 each day, on 1 – 3 it vanishes).
Potion of Flying

A clear glass bottle filled with a light and
refreshing elixir. Drinking it grants the
ability of flight for D20 minutes. Just don’t

four modestly sized people. If someone swears
