                             Item one
Recently Patricia was admitted in your school as a secretary after
completing her Secretariat course at Makerer Business School
(MUBS) Kampala, Uganda. Some of the students in your school
who don’t offer ICT are confused how marks and enroll calling the
way it is organized with no compromise. These students have
requested the Headteacher and the school secretary to address
them really how this work is done. Unfortunately, the
Headteacher himself is illiterate about ICT and the secretary who
can help about this situation is feeling much headache.
The Headteacher has requested you this afternoon in the main
hall to tell these none ICT learners about how Spreadsheets
software operates about given sort of work at your school.
Task:
(a). As an Senior One good ICT learner, Assure the illiterate fellow
students about the very importance of Spreadsheets in your
school.
(b). Distinguish for them how Electronic Spreadsheets are far
better than Manual Spreadsheets.
                             Item two
Your cousin was given an activity by his ICT teacher concerning
sorting Data in Microsoft word while going home this weekend
after being chased for school fees and He has decided to pass by
your school to help him so that he can attempt the activity. His
ICT teacher told him that the activity given to you before living
the school will be your pass in here at the main gate when you’re
back from home.

Task:
(a). Help so that you save your cousin by Sorting the work above
because you are better than Him in of sorting numbers in
ascending and descending order.
(b). As an ICT icon, in which topic do we find Sorting Data in
Microsoft word, Bullets and numbering in Microsoft word and
Paragraph alignment in Microsoft word.
                           Item three:
In the past and even nowadays, people were and invited for
meetings and prayers by drumming. But at least ICT has changed
the way people do things even in different sectors like Banking,
Transport, Communication, Sports, Education, Government and
Business. You may realize that people have always created,
captured, processed, accessed, store, and communicated
Information with some Technology. However, what makes the
difference with ICTs is their Electronic Nature.
Task:
(a). Explain the uses of ICTs in the following areas or sectors
below;
  i.   Business
 ii.   Government
iii.   Hospitals
(b). State down the benefits of ICT concept to your society or
home.
(c). Suggest the ICT devices/tools that can be used for invitation
instead of a drum.
                            Item four:
Malaika lives in Nairobi, Kenya. She is a businesswoman dealing
in transport. Her Company is called Angel transporters. One
morning, she called a friend known as Cooper who lives in Kumi
Uganda and introduced to Him the idea of opening up a branch in
Uganda. After a call, Malika send Cooper an email giving the
business details. The details had Data obtained from different
research papers and pictures. When Cooper received the email,
He called Malaika on Skype and both had a conclusive discussion.
Task:
  i.   Identify the different ICTs used in the above story.
 ii.   Discuss the uses of different ICTs mentioned in (1) above.
iii.   List down some ICT tools that Malaika can use to improve
       her business.
iv.    State down three(3) different ways in which a mobile phone
       can be useful to support Malaika’s business activities.
