PROFILE OF NWOBI & CO
Nwobi & Co is a Firm of Chartered Accountants and Tax Consultants. The Firm was established
by Mr. Chioma Nwobi, who is an ex-employee of Arthur Andersen and Capital Alliance Nigeria
Limited to provide accounting, tax consultancy, financial advisory and business consulting
services to high net worth individuals, private companies and government establishments.
Nwobi & Co was established in 2007.
Nwobi and Co is led by Mr. Chioma Nwobi who is the managing partner. He is a 1992 First Class
Honours Graduate of Estate Management from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and also holds
an MBA from the Lagos Business School. He is an estate surveyor, a chartered accountant and a
financial analyst.
Mr. Nwobi started his career with Obika Nwobi Associates, a firm of estate surveyors, from
where he proceeded to Arthur Andersen and worked in the tax and business advisory division of
Arthur Andersen, now KPMG Professional Services, for six years prior to joining Capital Alliance
Nigeria, the first private equity firm in Nigeria in 1999. He spent four years as an Investment
Manager at CAN prior to founding Phoenix Capital Limited in September 2003 and Nwobi & Co
in 2007.
Mr. Nwobi currently consults for several blue chip companies, he has consulted for the World Bank and
the UK Department for International Department (DFID). He was formerly a Resident Consultant to the
Federal Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and Special Duties. Mr. Nwobi is a fellow of the Institute of
Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, and an
Associate member of the Institute of Forensic Accountants of Nigeria.

THE FIRM’S TRACK RECORD
The Firm has blue chip audit and other attest clients.
Assisted the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to improve their public
procurement and contract procedures and to set up a Due Process Unit. The ultimate goal
of the Unit is to assist the Commission to promote value for money in procurements and
to enforce compliance with laid down procurement practices. The Firm trained over 200
staff of the Commission on the new procurement procedures and ran the Due Process
Unit for 10 months leading to the institutionalization of the new procurement procedures
in the Commission.
• The Firm routinely consults for the UK Department for International Development (DFID);
– Developed a new set of Budget Codes/Chart of Accounts for some State that
meets the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Government Finance Statistics
(GFS) standards;
– Developed a comprehensive list of all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies
(MDA) in Enugu State. The firm also updated the budget call circulars in a
manner that is transparent and would enable much more realistic and useful
budgets to be produced. Several new forms and templates that would aid the
preparation of the budget estimates were developed in this assignment;
– Reviewed the transaction processes and procedures of the Ministries of Lands
and Survey of two Nigerian States.
The Firm has undertaken a number of assignments for the World Bank:
– Assisted the World Bank to review the institutional capacity of a Federal
Ministry;
– Assisted the World Bank to develop financial reporting frame work for six
Nigerian States that were to receive financial assistance from the World Bank.
• The firm routinely conducts financial and commercial due diligence investigations of
companies for several Venture Capital/Private Equity Funds with a view to evaluating
the financial status, potential and capacity of the SMEs to receive investment funds or to
be able to repay their loans. Some of their clients include Capital Alliance Nigeria

• The Firm assists Venture Capital and Private Equity firms to evaluate investee companies
in order to ascertain how well they used funds invested in them and ascertain their
success level. We do this by monitoring the regular operations of these companies;

CHIOMA NWOBI
Chioma Nwobi is the managing partner of Nwobi & Co - an accounting, tax consultancy, financial
advisory and business consulting firm, the Chief Executive Officer of Sprint Consulting - a boutique
financial advisory and consulting services firm and Obieze Nwobi & Associates – an Estate surveying and
valuation practice firm. He is a 1992 First Class Honours Graduate of Estate Management from the
University of Nigeria, Nsukka and also holds an MBA from the Lagos Business School. He is an Estate
surveyor and Valuer, a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Consultant, Management Consultant and
Forensic / Financial Analyst.
Chioma started his career with Obika Nwobi Associates, a firm of estate surveyors, from where he
proceeded to Arthur Andersen, now KPMG Professional Services, where he worked in the tax and
business advisory division for five years prior to joining Capital Alliance Nigeria (CAN), the first private
equity firm in Nigeria in 1999. During the course of his employment with CAN, he undertook the review
and development of numerous business plans for CAN’s investee and potential investee companies.
Some of these companies include; Link serve, Radiospor (South Africa), Service Masters, Independent
Telephone Network Limited, Protea Hotels Nigeria, Business Confidential (metamorphosed into Business
Day). He spent four years as an Investment Manager at CAN prior to founding Phoenix Capital Limited
(Sprint Consulting) in September 2003, Nwobi & Co in 2007 and Obieze Nwobi & Associates in 2023.
Chioma as the Managing Partner of Nwobi & Co / CEO of Sprint consulting was engaged by several firms
during the port concessioning programme supervised by the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) in
Nigeria to put in bids. He led the team in conducting due diligence investigations of the ports,
preparation of the technical and financial proposals, entering into bid negotiations with the BPE on
behalf of our clients and ultimately winning the bids for these clients. After the takeover of these
privatized institutions, Chioma led the team to develop implementation and recruitment plans geared at
attracting competent hands to run these institutions. The Firm was able to help our various clients to
secure adequate finance by preparing sound fund raising proposals and leading the presentations.
Chioma also has deep experience in working with Government officials and government institutions. He
was at one time a resident consultant to the former Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, and
Information. In the various assignments he has done for the DFID/SLGP he worked closely with various
state government institutions and officials, and understands the best ways to work with them to
accomplish real results. He routinely consults for various organizations including UK Department for
International Development (DFID), the World Bank and the Niger Delta Development Commission
(NDDC)
Mr Nwobi currently consults for several blue chip companies and has consulted for the World Bank. He
is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of
Taxation of Nigeria, an Associate member of the Institute of Forensic Accountants of Nigeria, member of
the Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria (ESVARBON) and an Associate of the
Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV).
CHUMA MADUEKWE
Chuma is a graduate of Banking & Finance from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and a chartered
accountant. Prior to joining the Firm, Chuma worked with firms such as Arthur Andersen, Capital
Alliance Nigeria and FC & H Consultants. His core competences are in business advisory, fund raising,
deal structuring and negotiation and due diligence investigation and strategy development, business
valuations, new venture creation and development, financial accounting and management reporting,
and financial audit and internal controls evaluation.
He has offered business advisory and fund raising assistance to Formwork Limited for the establishment
of an automated furniture and woodwork joinery facility and Fund raising assistance for a backward
integration investment on behalf of Caprisage Wood Exports Limited for the establishment of a saw dust
briquette facility utilizing the waste products from the company’s saw mills and producing briquettes for
export to Europe. He rendered services to the Enugu State Government during the rehabilitation and
remodeling of the Presidential Hotels Enugu. He was involved in the operational review of financial
operations of the 8th All Africa Games (COJA) on behalf of the Presidency. He led the deal structuring
and negotiation for a $2 million investment in West Atlantic Energy International Limited, a company
constructing a deep offshore oil and gas logistics support base in Lagos and also Led the due diligence
investigation for a proposed $1million investment in an IT firm, Solix Nigeria Limited. He participated in a
top-level strategy formulation assignment for Exxon-Mobil for the field development work on its Erha
Deep Offshore Oilfield.
CHIMA UBA OGUOMA
Chima is a Banking and Finance graduate and a chartered accountant. He has a masters degree
in Economics and a member of the Institute of Data Processing, London. Chima has deep and
extensive experience in accounting, management consulting and business advisory services. He
previously worked with Task Systems, Union Trust Mortgage Bank, and Christie Nigeria Limited
(Telipoint) where he was the Chief Operating Officer. Chima has undertaken various
assignments including formulating severance strategies for the FCT administration;
restructuring of the Federal Ministry of Finance Abuja; he played a part in the review of One oil
and gas free zone authority.
He was formerly a member of the Presidential Monitoring Committee on the Niger Delta
Development Commission. Chima is currently a consultant to the World Bank, and the UK
Department for International Development (DFID).
ADEOLA ODUWOLE
Adeola’s core competencies lies in due diligence, Research, Consulting & Training, Policies and
Procedures review. She holds a (B.A) degree in English from the University of Lagos.
Prior to joining Nwobi & Co as a Research Analyst and Adminstrative & HR staff, Adeola served
with the Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS). Working with the Pay as You Earn (PAYE),
Direct Assessment (DA), and Minimum Tax (MT) departments.
Her strength lies in Research, Consulting & Training having successfully planned and coordinated
various in-house trainings and other assignments for the Firm.
