ABBREVIATIONS
MR – magic ring
ch – chain
sl st - slip stitch
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
inc – increase (crochet two sc in 1 stitch)
dec – decrease (crochet two sc together)
bk lp – back loop
(...) – the number in brackets indicates the number of stitches in a row
Crochet in a spiral without sl st. At the beginning of the row use a marker or thread of different col-
or, which help mark the first loop of each new row.
The finished toy is 17 cm = 6,7”.

HEAD
Crochet with a flesh thread, stuff tightly in the course of crocheting.
1 rnd: 6 sc in MR If you want to insert the eyes with stalks, it’s
2 rnd: 6 inc (12) time to insert them. I recommend to insert the
3 rnd: (1 sc, inc)*6 (18) eyes between 18th and 19th rows, the space be-

Cut a thread, tighten the opening, hide the end of a thread in the detail. How to tighten the opening look at
the link https://youtu.be/c6B-S_42Yi4.
                                                      4
LEGS (2 details)
Start to crochet with a red thread.
1 rnd: 6 sc in MR
2 rnd: 6 inc (12)
3 rnd: (1 sc, inc)*6 (18)
4-6 rnd: 18 sc (3 rows)
Cut a red thread, change color to light blue.
7-12 rnd: 18 sc (6 rows)
Cut a thread, fasten off. Make the 2nd leg the same way,
don’t cut a thread in the end of crocheting.
BODY
Start to connect the legs. To do this make chain 6 ch from the second leg and insert the hook in the first
loop of the first leg and crochet according to the scheme:
1 rnd:
On the 1st leg: (7 sc, inc)*2, 2 sc
On the chain: 5 sc, inc
On the 2nd leg: (7 sc, inc)*2, 2 sc
On the other side of the chain: 5 sc, inc
In total, in the 1st row of the body, there should be 54 sc. Stuff the legs. Further stuff the body tightly in
the course of crocheting.
                                                       5
2-10 rnd: 54 sc (9 rows)
11-14 rnd: (3 sc with a red thread, 3 sc with a white
thread)*9 (4 rows)
Further crochet with a light blue thread.
15 rnd: (7 sc, dec)*6 (48)
16-17 rnd: 48 sc (2 rows)
18 rnd: 3 sc, dec, (6 sc, dec)*5, 3 sc (42)
19-20 rnd: 42 sc (2 rows)
21 rnd: (5 sc, dec)*6 (36)
22-23 rnd: 36 sc (2 rows)
24 rnd: 2 sc, dec, (4 sc, dec)*5, 2 sc (30)

27 rnd: (3 sc, dec)*6 (24)
                                                        6
28-29 rnd: 24 sc (2 rows)
Cut a thread, leaving a long end for sewing.
ARMS (2 details)
Start to crochet with a red thread, stuff not tightly
up the 10th row.
1 rnd: 5 sc in MR
2 rnd: 5 inc (10)
3-5 rnd: 10 sc (3 rows)
Cut a red thread, change color to light blue.
6-20 rnd: 10 sc (15 rows)
21 rnd: (3 sc, dec)*2 (8)
Crochet additional 4 sc. Fold the detail in half and
connect the edges by4 sc. Cut a thread, leaving a long
end for sewing.
MASK
Crochet with a light blue thread. I recommend knitting the mask less tightly than the head or using a larger
crochet hook.
1 rnd: 6 sc in MR 9 rnd: (7 sc, inc)*6 (54)

Attach a light blue thread to the loop indicated in the photo, crochet 42 sc. It will be the 20th row, turn the
crocheting and further crochet in back-and-forth rows.
21-22 rnd: 1 ch, 42 sc, turn the crocheting
23 rnd: 1 ch, 6 sc, dec, (12 sc, dec)*2, 6 sc, turn the crocheting (39)

ASSEMBLY AND DECORATIONS
Sew the head to the body. In the course of sewing stuff the neck very tightly, so as the head doesn’t
dangle because of its heaviness. How to sew the head to the body look at the link
https://youtu.be/u_wYwIkTjKg.
If you haven't used the eyes with stalks, it’s time to glue them. I use eyes with stulks, but glue them.
                                                      10
I like it better this way, because the plug doesn’t interfere with the design of the face in the future,
and a thread “doesn’t run” under the glued eye.
Firstly mark the points 1 and 2 between the 18th and 19th rows of the head (the space between points
is 10 sc). Now take a thick knitting needle or something similar (I use knitting needle No5.5 (5.5 mm)) and
start to gradually expand the crocheted fabric at these points. How to do this look at the link
https://youtu.be/MQ6wz6my8fo.
Now take glue and drip inside the resulting hole. Also, lubricate the inner surface of the eye with
glue. Insert the eyes there and press on them, wait a couple of minutes. How to do this look at the link
https://youtu.be/RmTZDPXPYwk.
Embroider the whites of the eyes with a white thread (I use whole thread Yarn Art Jeans). Embroi-
der the nose with a flesh thread (I use a whole thread Alize Cotton Gold, the same as when crocheting the-
head) between the 20th and 21st rows of the head, the width of the nose is 3 sc. Embroider the mouth with a
black sewing thread (2 threads).
                                                      11
Sew the arms between the 27th and 28th rows of the body (I recommend to steam off them). How to
sew the arms look on example at the link https://youtu.be/NxPpn2gnqxU.
Crochet the belt with a brown thread. To do this, make chain 54 ch and sl st to join in the end. Make
2 ch and crochet 54 hdc (1 hdc in each loop), sl st to join in the end. Cut a thread, leaving a long end for sew-
ing.
Sew the belt to the body between the 10th and 12th rows.
                                                       12
Sew the mask. I recommend you firstly mark with pins where the edges of the mask should be locat-
ed. Sew the bottom of the mask as it’s shown at the photo and video https://youtu.be/kczzCd7S3kw. After
that, sew the mask along the entire inner border in the same way.
                                                     13
It’s left to make the shild. Start with the buttonhole, with which the shield is held on the arm. Make
chain 11 ch using a light blue thread, insert the hook in the second loop from the hook and crochet 10 sc. Cut
a thread, fasten off.
                                                      14
Now crochet the inside of the shield with a light 4 rnd: 1 sc, inc, 2 sc in the loops of the buttonhole
blue thread. and shield together, (inc, 2 sc)*2, inc, 2 in the
1 rnd: 6 sc in MR loops of the buttonhole and shield together, inc, 2
2 rnd: 6 inc (12) sc, inc, 1 sc (24)
3 rnd: (1 sc, inc)*6 (18) 5 rnd: (3 sc, inc)*6 (30)
Attach the buttonhole in the next row. When at- 6 rnd: 2 sc, inc, (4 sc, inc)*5, 2 sc (36)
taching, place it on the seamy side to the front 7 rnd: (5 sc, inc)*6 (42)
side of the shield. 8 rnd: 3 sc, inc, (6 sc, inc)*5, 3 sc (48)
                                                           Cut a thread, fasten off.
Proceed to the outside of the shield.
Start with a light blue thread.
1 rnd: 6 sc in MR
2 rnd: 6 inc (12)
3 rnd: (1 sc, inc)*6 (18)
4 rnd: 1 sc, inc, (2 sc, inc)*5, 1 sc (24)
Cut a light blue thread, change color to red.
5 rnd: (3 sc, inc)*6 (30)
6 rnd: 2 sc, inc, (4 sc, inc)*5, 2 sc (36)
Change color to white.
7 rnd: (5 sc, inc)*6 (42)
8 rnd: 3 sc, inc, (6 sc, inc)*5, 3 sc (48)
Cut a white thread, change color to red. Next, need to connect two parts. Pre-lubricate the inner
surface of both parts with glue. This is necessary so that they do not diverge to the sides, if you pull on the
                                                      15
buttonhole. We apply the parts to each other (inside out to the inside out) and begin to connect with a red
thread.
9 rnd in the loops of the both parts: (7 sc, inc)*6 (54)
          10 rnd: 54 sc
Cut a thread, fasten off, hide the end of a thread.
Embroider on the head a letter «A» as it’s shown at the photo (I use whole thread Yarn Art Jeans).
Cut out 2 stars from white felt and glue to the body and shield.
                                                         16
                          Captain America is ready!
I hope it will bring a lot of joy to little (and maybe not so much) Marvel fans!
