            Before we start crocheting let’s get acquainted :)
                          My name is Evgenia.
Like many other crocheters, I was involved in amigurumi making when I
     had been in my maternity leave. I have three years of crochet
  experience, and during a half of them I have been designing my own
                       toys and writing patterns.
Along with the toys making I fell in love with photography. I finished two
 educational modules in a photography school. And now I successfully
                     reconcile two of my passions.
 My toys are simple, without complicated details, but still they are very
               deep, with their own character and story...

                                     Materials needed:
Yarn needed:
      - YarnArt Jeans, 62 (white) - 1 skein;
      - YarnArt Jeans, 90 (red) - 1/2 skein;
      - Alize cotton gold, 83 (yellow) - just a little;
      - Alize cotton gold, 493 (brown) - just a little;
      - Alize cotton gold, 688 (light brown) or YarnArt Jeans (71);
      - Alize cotton gold, 270 (green melange or khaki) - we will need just a little;
The yarn Alize cotton gold can be substituted with the yarn Alize cotton gold hobby,
YarnArt Jeans or Gazzal jeans.
Gazzal Jeans, Alize cotton gold, Alize cotton gold hobby, YarnArt Jeans - number 2
in the Standard Yarn Weight System.
Tools and materials:
- 2 mm crochet hook Clover or 1.75 mm of any other brand (US 4);
- needle for sewing pieces;
- thick cardboard or plastic sheet (if you plan to wash or clean the toy);
- fiberfill (hollow fiber);
- scissors.

                                       Abbreviations:
    sc - single crochet
    dec - decrease
    inc - increase
    sl st - slip stitch
    ch - chain
    BLO - crochet into back loops only
    tr - treble crochet

    sh st - shift stitches, worked as sc. After working these stitches the total

                           The house measures 18 cm (7 inches) high.
                                 My stitches have a semi X shape.
                          The toy size can differ in case of working in the
                           technique which creates "V" shaped stitches
                              (ticks) - if you do yarn over both times!

         Small (make 3):
         1 round - 6 sc in MR.
         Leave a thread tail for sewing.
         Medium (make 3):
         1 round - 6 sc in MR

         Sew the spots to the cap of our mushroom in a random order
         (photo 2). Weave in the thread tails inside of the cap.
         Add fiberfill into the cap so it keeps the shape. Don’t stuff the
         cap tightly.
         Sew the cap to the stem of the mushroom. Add fiberfill
         between the cap and the stem of the mushroom as you sew.

         Cut the thread of brown color, leaving a long thread tail, embroider
         the shutters like in the photo 3. Fix the point of crossing the
         threads additionally to the magic ring. Cut the thread, fasten off.

         Start crocheting the door with the yarn of light brown color.
         1 row - make ch16, starting from the 2-nd ch from the hook
         crochet: 14 sc across one of the chain sides, 4 sc into the last ch,
         14 sc along the other side of the chain (32)
         Turn the work.
         2 row - 14 sc, inc*4, 14 sc, ch (36), turn the work.
         3 row - 14 sc, (1 sc, inc)*4, 14 sc, ch (40), turn.
         4 row - 14 sc, (2 sc, inc)*4, 14 sc, ch (44), turn.
         Change the yarn color to brown. Don’t cut the thread of light
          brown color, leave it for sewing.
         5 row - 44 sc. Cut the thread and fasten off, weave in the thread

                               Assembly:

         Find the points on the stem where the windows and the
         door will be located and fix them with pins. Sew the
          windows and the door. Sew the widows through the
         stitches in round 6 with the thread of yellow color. Sew the
         door through the loops in round 4 with the light brown
          thread (photo 1, 2 and 3).
         Sew the lamp above the door (photo 4).
         Embroider the handle on the door with the thread of white
         color or with any other color of your choice (photo 5).
         Find the points to fix the grass on the stem and pin the
         grass to the mushroom. The branch with two leaves is
         located on the right side from the door and the branch with
         three leaves is located on the left side. Sew the grass.

         Snail’s shell.
         Crochet the shell in green color. I use green melange.
         1 round - 6 sc in MR (6)

         3-40 rounds (38 rounds) - 9 sc
         Fold the piece in half and crochet 3 or 4 sl st (photo 4).
         Cut the thread and fasten off.
         Cut the thread, leaving a tail with a length of about 20 cm.
         Thread the needle and attach this end to the beginning of the
         piece, to the magic ring (photo 5).

         Assembling the snail.
     4   Start rolling the shell, at first bend about 1 cm (photo 1). Fix
          the fold using the threaded needle (photo 2).
         Make the next fold (photo 3) and fix it again (photo 4).
         Continue rolling and fixing the folds until the shell is
         completely rolled.
         At the end sew the entire end of the piece to the fabric (photo
         5).
         The shell is finished (photo 6).
         Try the shell on the snail. Find the most successful location
          for the shell and sew it, using the same threaded needle
         (photo 7).

Embroider the eyes on the 5th round of the head using the yarn or a sewing thread of brown
color. The distance between the eyes is 1 stitch.
The snail is finished. Put it on the mushroom and fix. The snail can be sewn or fixed with pin
on your choice.
