Things to know:
• The height of finished Mushroom Pixie is approx. 9- 10 cm.
• The materials mentioned above, were the materials I used to make the Mushroom Pixie, you can
change your yarn types and weight (cotton, acrylic, etc) and colours adjusting to the crochet hook. If
you use different yarn weight with different gauge, the measurement and proportion of the doll will
also change.
• Amigurumi needs to be crocheted tightly to avoid small holes or stretches while stuffing.
• Each body part starts with magic ring or adjustable ring. Most details are working in spiral without
slip stitch or lifting loops, you’ll be informed if it stated differently.
• Use stitch marker or contrast thread colour to mark the beginning of the row.
• Stuff the body parts firmly to get an even shape, always fill in as you go. Do not wait until you’re done
because it will only get harder to stuff the details evenly.

Now, we’re going to crochet the 3rd round through both red and white loops at the same time using the
Maroon red yarn.
To do so, still holding the head upside down, insert the hook into the next stitch of the maroon yarn first,
then into the 1st stitch of white yarn (the closing stitch). Pull the yarn through both loops and crochet the
first SC.

Sew the grass in place with few stitches on the back to make it stay in place.

Hold the body upside down, connect a Taupe yarn into the front loop
of RND 7 and SC around 1 row. Close the stitch and hide the remaining
yarn inside the body.

You can now stuff the whole body. Try not to stuff it too firm and
keep the bottom flat.

Stuff the mushroom and close the stitch. Leave enough yarn for
sewing and cut off.

Go back to the front loop of RND 5, hold the mushroom upside down. Connect a new Maroon red yarn into
the 1st stitch, then SC around (12). End with SLST to the 1st SC and close the round and weave in all ends.
12

ASSEMBLY
Place the head on the top of the body, use pins to fasten and sew using the remaining yarn
from the body into the head, around the circumference. The shorter SC part of the cap & gills
should be facing to the front. (see the 2nd RND section on mushroom cap & gills pattern).
The cap may shrink or folded inward. Use your fingers to correct the shape.

Place the hands under the top round of the body, and sew both hands symmetrically to the
sides of the body. Pull the remaining yarn from both hands, tie a knot and weave in all ends.
13

Place the tiny mushroom on to

the right/left side of the body
and mark the position with
pins. Sew a few stitches in the
back on the mushroom that
attached to the body with the
end of off-white yarn.

Insert 3 MM safety eyes in between row 12 and 13 with 8 STS apart. Use a black
embroidery thread to sew the lashes on both eyes. Add pink blush to the cheek to make it
even more adorable.
Sew a few stitches on to the mushroom cap for the white scales. You can replace the white
scales with beads, sequins or bullion stitch embroidery.
Decorate your Mushroom Pixie with colourful beads, sequins or whatever ornaments you
have in hand. It’s a freestyle sewing decoration, so be creative and have fun!
