Enable criteria:
Ignition ON.

Fault criteria:
Voltage exceeds 2.8 V.
Current in the sensor circuit is below 2 mA
System reaction to a fault:
• The airbag system should be considered non-operational. There may, however, be
some functionality.
• Airbag warning lamp is lit
Checking the wiring harness
Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent
breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation,
retracted pins and pin clamping force.
Diagnostic help
The DTC can be generated if a control module with the wrong part number is fitted in the
vehicle.
