The purpose of literary studies is to deepen our understanding of human

Literary studies cultivates my reading comprehension by exploring
diverse genres, time periods, and cultural perspectives to broaden my
interpretive skills.

Including literature in our curriculum enhances and improves our
imagination, deepen our understanding to different stories may it be fiction or
non-fiction and helps us appreciate literature.

When I hear "literary techniques," I think of the various tools and methods

allowing authors to convey difficult ideas and themes which helps readers
understand the depth of a literary text.

The word "literary" in the context of literary criticism brings to mind
anything related to literature specifically written works like novels,
poems, and plays.

In my own opinion, criticism means to make evaluation or judgement.

so for you what is literary criticism?
So for me, literary criticism is making judgement on someone else's
literary works.

For me, the benefits of literary criticism to students are numerous. It
enhances their imagination by encouraging them to think critically

1.What literary periods or movements have you heard of before this class,
and what do you know about them?

I’ve heard about Renaissance Period as it’s famous writer is William


Shakespeare and also Modernism.

2.Can you name few famous authors or works associated with specific
literary periods or movements?

In Renaissance is William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet; Romanticism:


William Wordsworth: I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud; and Mary Shelley:
Frankenstein still in Romanticism.

Studying literary periods and movements helps us understand how


literature has evolved over time, reflecting changes in culture, society, and

In this time it is more of morality of an individual, themes like

Q1. When I say the word MEDIEVAL, what immediately comes to your mind?
When I say the words Medieval all I can thing of its Middle Age.

Q2. Based on your current knowledge or current impression about the


Medieval Period, do you wish to experience living during this period as a local
or civilian? Why?

Living during the Medieval period would likely be challenging,


especially as a common person, due to the hardships like limited medical
knowledge, constant wars, and a rigid social structure. But I think it would be
more appealing as an observer than as someone living through the daily
struggles.

Studying the past, like the Medieval period and its literature, is
important because it helps us understand how societies evolved, the values
they held, and how their stories and ideas shaped our world today.

offering insights into human nature, emotions, and struggles that are still

I think, on how they strive to live everyday.

When I hear the word "Renaissance," I immediately think of a period of
great cultural rebirth and transformation.

I myself know one famous painter of Renaissance and that is Leonardo
da Vinci.

Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci.

By advancing in art which enhances our creativity, in science as we
create useful things and innovation and in education.

Renaissance is so significant because it the period where there are
inventions that are still present and with those it serves as a stepping stone to
be a more progressive and influenced how we view the world.

When I hear the word "Reformation," I think of a time of religious and
social change, particularly the Protestant Reformation in the 16th
century, where figures like Martin Luther challenged the Catholic
Church.

Faith in God can deeply influence an individual's perspective on life,
purpose, and values by providing a sense of meaning, direction, and
moral guidance.
