INTRODUCTION
This manual supplies data and instructions to do maintenance, tests, and repairs on the
component in the shop. The data and procedures are necessary to make sure that the
component operates satisfactorily when returned to service. This manual will be revised as
necessary to include current information. It contains:
Refer to the Table of Contents to find page numbers for each section.
The IPL figure and item number are used to identify parts in all sections of the manual. The
introduction to the IPL tells how to use the IPL.
All weights and measurements in the manual are in English units with metric equivalents in

B. The CHS allows you to move Unit Load Devices (ULDs) on the aircraft main
cargo deck and lock them in positions.
C. Most of the components of the CHS are secured to the aircraft seat tracks
with studs, retainers, washers, and nuts. Some components are secured with
quick release fasteners.
D. The conveyor plain is approximately 1.25 in. (3.2 cm) high from the aircraft
seat tracks.
H. See Ancra Report 10551, Rev. C, dated Jan. 1, 2021, for Instructions For
Continued Airworthiness.
I. Refer to the Illustrated Parts List (IPL) Figures 1 and 1A to identify compo-
nents of the CHS and their arrangement in the aircraft.

make sure that the ground service equipment is properly
aligned in the door area.
(c) Door Sills are heavy! To avoid injury, a minimum of two people
must lift and move a Door Sill or the component must be moved
on a wheeled cart.
(a) Make sure the Door Sills are in the correct position. The side
guides must be adjacent to the cargo door opening.
(b) Put the Door Sills in the vertical position for installation.

ensure the Door Sills proper operation. Both Door Sills must be
leveled with the ball mats and each other in the DOWN position
and all saddles must rest on door spools.
(b) Turn the Door Sills in the DOWN position. Visually check if the
Door Sills are leveled and all saddles are on the door spools.
(c) If the Door Sills are not leveled, loosen the jam nuts on the link
arms.
(d) Put a thin tool through the opening in the link arm and turn the
link arm until the spool leg is at correct angle to the door spools.
(f) Holding the saddle, turn the adjustment stud on the spool leg
until the saddle is at correct position on the door spools.
(g) Torque the jam nuts on the link arms 160 to 190 in. lb (18.1 to
21.5 N m). Torque the jam nuts on the spool legs 450 to 500 in.
lb (50.8 to 56.5 N m).
(h) Wire lock the jam nuts on the link arms and the spool legs per
Owner/Operator’s procedures. Approximately 144 in. (366 cm)
of lock wire is required.

DISASSEMBLY
1. General
A. If you need to repair or clean the component, see which parts need to be dis-
assembled. It is possible that the procedure requires only partial disassem-
bly. Partial disassembly reduces wear on parts.
B. The person doing the disassembly can make modifications to the sequence
of disassembly.
D. When you move a component, do not let it twist. Give symmetrical support
below it.
E. Disassembly Materials:
WARNING
WEAR GLOVES, PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, AND
EYE PROTECTION DURING DISASSEMBLY.
PARTS ARE SPRING-LOADED.
NOTE: All item numbers refer to IPL Figure 3, unless specified differently.
A. Remove the Outer Pawl (45) and the Inner Pawl (60):
(1) Cut the Cotter Pins (20) off of each Shaft (25).
(2) Pull the Shafts (25) out while you hold the Pawls (45, 60) in the Base
(115).
(3) Lift the Washers (30), the Pawls (45, 60), and the Springs (35, 40, 50,

REPAIR section of this manual. Write the results of differences and the main-

C. For the function of this reference guide, damage limits are divided into three
categories. The categories are given in CMM Table 5002, below.
Category Description
I These are non-restraint devices; repair and replacement may be delayed
until next maintenance interval. For example, rollers, ball units, guidance
surfaces, or pivot rollers.
II These are non-restraint devices but have impact on ULD conveyance. The
operator may repair these discrepancies partially to bring it to Category 1
until next maintenance interval. For example, large number or rollers or
ball units damaged or missing in one area can be improved by moving roll-
ers or ball units from other part of the CHS.
III These are restraint devices. There is no time limitation for repairing or
replacing damaged restraint, however the ULD allowable weight will be
restricted or loading position will be voided. For more information and rem-
edies see Ancra Aircraft Weight & Balance Manual 10552, Rev. C, dated
Sep, 2019.

(e) The values and tolerances permitted for electrical and elec-
tronic parts, such as resistors and capacitors.
(f) The CAGE code for parts made by other vendors; for standard
parts (AN, MS, or NAS), no CAGE code is given.
(6) The EFF CODE column is used to show limited interchangeability only.
It identifies different configurations in each figure and shows how parts
relate to item 1 (or an alpha variant of item 1) in that figure only. A
code letter A through Z (but not I and O) identifies each configuration.
The same code is used in this figure to show all parts for a specified
configuration. A blank space shows that the part is used on all configu-
rations in that figure.
(7) The UNITS PER ASSY column gives the quantity of the specified item
number used on one next-higher assembly, subassembly, or sub-sub-
assembly. The letters AR (as required) are for bulk items, and RF indi-
cates that the item is shown for reference only.
