About video editing :

Video editing is the process of cutting,


arranging, and enhancing video clips to
create a polished final product. It
involves tasks like trimming footage,
adding transitions, effects, audio, and
color grading. Popular tools include
beginner-friendly apps like CapCut and
pro tools like Adobe Premiere Pro. It’s
about storytelling, creativity, and
attention to detail.
Stages of video editing :
• comImporting: Bringing raw video clips, audio, and other
assets into a video editing software.

• Cutting and Trimming: Removing unnecessary parts of the


footage to focus on key moments.

• Arranging: Placing clips in the desired sequence to create a


narrative or visual flow.

• Adding Effects: Including transitions, visual effects, color


grading, and filters to enhance the footage.

• Sound Design: Adjusting or adding background music,


sound effects, and voiceovers.

• Exporting: Saving the final product in the desired format


and resolution.
Common video editing tools :
• Beginner Tools: iMovie, CapCut, InShot.

• Intermediate Tools: Alight Motion, DaVinci Resolve,


Adobe Premiere Rush.

• Professional Tools: Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro,


DaVinci Resolve Studio.
1. Starting a New Project :

• Open Alight Motion and tap the "+" button.

• Choose an aspect ratio (16:9 for YouTube, 9:16 for Instagram


stories).

• Set the resolution (1080p) and frame rate (30 or 60 FPS).


2. Importing Media

• Tap the "+" button and select Media to import video clips,
images, or audio.

• Arrange imported media files on the timeline in the order of


appearance.
3. Editing the Timeline

• Use the Split tool to cut out unnecessary sections.

• Adjust the clip duration by dragging the edges of the


clips on the timeline.

• Enable Snap to align clips accurately.


4. Adding Transitions

• Tap on a clip and choose the Effects tab.

• Select Transitions like Zoom In, Slide, or Fade.

• Use keyframes to adjust the transition speed.


5. Adding Text and Animation

• Tap the "+" button and choose Text.

• Type your text and customize it using font, size, and color.

• Animate the text using the Move & Transform option.

• Example: Apply Bounce In or Typewriter animation.

• Use keyframes to make the text follow a path or fade in/out.


6. Adding Visual Effects

• Select a clip and tap on Effects.

• Add filters like Motion Blur, Glow, or Hue Shift.

• Customize the intensity and duration of the


effects using sliders.
7. Adding Background Music

• Tap the "+" button and select Audio to import a music file.

• Align the audio with the video clips on the timeline.

• Use the Audio Mixer to adjust volume or add fade-in/out effects.


8. Exporting the Project

• Tap the Export button in the top-right corner.

• Choose video resolution (1080p) and frame rate (60


FPS for smoother playback).

• Save the video in MP4 format.
