4 product ranges that facilitate the choice of the

lubricant that best suits your needs

MASTER LEADER ELITE DRIVER

With these 4 new Repsol ranges, we present a more ergonomic packaging and a more modern image. It is also
more ecological, contributing to circularity through its use of recycled material, and thus reducing its carbon footprint.

We have also changed the name of the products to be more intuitive and understandable. And we have reduced the
number of ranges from 7 to 4 to help the customer choose more easily.

Main characteristics
of an automotive lubricant

Quality levels and approvals

The engine oils are made of mineral and/or synthetic bases and quality additives. Both the bases and the additives are
selected according to the requirements to be complied with, generally vehicle manufacturing specifications or other
international standards (ACEA, API, or ILSAC).

Having the formal approval of vehicle manufacturers is a seal of quality. We are committed to offering the best products to
our customers. This is why we have an extensive catalog of approved products.

ACEA
European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association. This body issues
specifications that gather the minimum qualities needed for lubricants to be
used in vehicles of associated brands.

For a passenger vehicle, these specifications are divided into two categories:
A/B for gasoline and diesel vehicles without particulate filters, and C for
vehicles with particulate filters.

American Petroleum Institute. The API specifications are made up of two
letters; the first indicates if it is a gasoline (S) or diesel (C) vehicle, and the

To facilitate selection within this range, we

distinguish between EVOLUTION products and
COSMOS products.

Evolution products have a reduced ash

content. Also known as MID SAPS or LOW
SAPS, they are formulated with additives that
are after-treatment systems-friendly, and
are especially important for modern vehicles
with diesel particulate filters (DPF) or gasoline
particulate filters (GPF) required to meet the
latest environmental standards.

COSMOS encompasses the products in which

there is no limit on the ash content.

Range
Lubricants formulated for vehicles that require basic API
quality and multi-grade or monograde viscosity.

The bases and additives that are used in its formulation help
to reduce oil consumption thanks to the sealing effect it has
on the most worn parts of the engine, guaranteeing maximum
protection.

The DRIVER range is divided into multi-grade products and

monograde products.

Multi-grade products are valid for passenger car engines that

require API quality levels. They provide high resistance to
rust by optimizing the period between oil changes.

Within this range we have High Mileage, which are

formulated with bases and additives to reduce leaks and oil
consumption thanks to the sealing effect it has on the most
worn parts of the engine, guaranteeing maximum protection.

Monograde products, HGX and HG, are developed to meet the

needs of low-demanding passenger car engines. They are
made with refined mineral bases and include additives which
control rust, effectively preventing corrosion and wear and
tear inside the engine.

At Repsol we have the best experts to develop the best products for each vehicle, for today and for the future.

Our technical department develops all products by meeting the highest quality and innovation criteria.
We have three development centers (Spain, Mexico and Indonesia) equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to test the
lubricants required in each market.

Additionally, we have the Repsol Technology Lab research center, one of the most cutting-edge private R&D models in the
world, where our researchers continuously improve each product, ensuring the highest efficiency and technical quality and
minimizing environmental impact.

A lubricant is an essential product to keep engines in optimal conditions and increasingly requires more technology
and complexity in its production due to greater environmental and efficiency requirements. For this reason, during the
development we select the best refining processes when manufacturing our own lubricant bases. This, together with the
use of top quality additives, allows us to offer products approved by the different car manufacturers, which are a seal

 Production
At Repsol we manufacture and package our lubricants in Spain, Mexico, Singapore, Indonesia, and other secondary
production centers, which supply lubricants to our customers worldwide.

To increase production supplies, we have acquired shares in the companies Bardahl, with a plant in Mexico, and United Oil
Company, with plants in Indonesia and Singapore. These partnerships allow us to strengthen our presence in both Latin
America and Southeast Asia, granting us new production capacities that enable supply to more than 80 countries.

We also have laboratories that analyze raw materials, intermediate products and, of course, final products before they are
retailed so that they meet Repsol’s strictest standards, regardless of the manufacturing plant.
