E. ABSTRACTION/                To achieve consistency in the use of the tenses, kee

                                  a. Be attentive if the timeframe is the same for ea
                                     action; avoid shifting from one tense to another
                                  b. If the goal is to indicate a change in time frame
                                     from one action to another, then shift tense
                                     accordingly.
                              Example of tense consistency:
                              I went to the canteen and ate a healthy meal.
                              The verbs “went” and “ate” are both past tense.
                              Example of a sentence that lacks tense consistency:
                              I went to the canteen and will eat a healthy meal
                              tomorrow.
                                  The verb “went” is past tense while the verb “will
                              eat” is future tense. There is no tense consistency, and
                              this results in unclear ideas.
F. APPLICATION (activity)        Do the following task:
                            1.Write what you have done in recent months.
                            2.Write what you did last week.
                            3. Write about your plans.
G. GENERALIZATION
