Memory Bear

Written
Instructions

PAGE #1
With this pattern and guide, you can create charming Memory bear or
Bunny from almost any fabric type. For my project, I chosed 100% cotton
because it is washable and safe for children, but feel free to select
traditional animal fur fabric for a classic look. The pattern includes
clearly labeled parts for easy assembly, and I've supplemented it with
detailed steps and helpful tips for added clarity.

MATERIALS NEEDED:
1 set of 10mm/18mm animal eyes (click here: https://amzn.to/47i4U17)
A small piece of black felt for the nose.
Filling material (I used polyester stuffing: https://amzn.to/3RM2yBV).
Sewing machine (click here: https://amzn.to/3TOcRYS).

How much fabric you will need.

The measurements provided are approximate, as they depend
on the direction of the fabric's print and how
efficiently the fabric is utilized when cutting out the patterns.

12” Memory Bear: 100 cm x 125 cm

15” Memory Bear: 100 cm x 145 cm
18” Memory Bear: 100 cm x 160 cm < Standard size
24” Memory Bear: 100 cm x 230 cm
27” Memory Bear: 100 cm x 280 cm
30” Memory Bear: 100 cm x 330 cm

step 1
Print the patterns and cut each piece.

To make this plushie, it's best to use short or medium-pile fabrics. Avoid
using excessively long-pile fabrics if you have limited sewing experience.

Consider using interfacing to make sewing easier.

The ideal stitch is a zigzag, but you can use a regular stitch or even sew
it by hand.

Keep your workspace clean of fur. Use a vacuum cleaner to help with this.

Next, you'll need to trace all the pieces onto the fluffy fabric. If you're
relatively new to this, I recommend drawing the seam lines directly onto
the fabric after cutting each piece. This approach can greatly assist in
guiding your sewing.

Please pay close attention to the pieces that need to be cut in reverse.
After tracing the front side, flip the pattern over and trace it again for
the second piece. This ensures that your pieces will align correctly when
sewn together.

step 2
Sew the Head Sides together. Carefully make small snips along the edge to
relieve tension in the fabric when turning it right side out.

step 3
Concentrate on affixing the Head Center to the Head Sides. Identify the
precise midpoint of the piece and align it with the center seam previously
sewn. TIP: It's advisable to execute a basting stitch to temporarily join
the pieces before permanently sewing them with the sewing machine.

Carefully make small snips along the edge to relieve tension in the fabric
when turning it right side out.

BUNNY EARS: Position the Ears face down. When positioning the ears, keep in
mind where you will place the eyes later. In image #2, you can see the
profile of the rabbit's face and how the ears will look. Attach the ears
right along the seam line. The ears should be tilted forward. Sew them.

TEDDY EARS: Position the Ears face down. Place them right where the sewing
begins. Sew the ears.

Back Head: Sew the pieces of the Back Head together. Carefully make small
snips along the edge to relieve tension in the fabric.

This step is optional: If you wish to add eyes, I recommend using safety
eyes link these: https://amzn.to/3ROklIs (I prefer to choose sizes larger
than 1cm or 0.7" in diameter). There are also safety noses available.

Use pins to help you determine the correct positioning. Once you've
chosen the spot, make small cuts with scissors and insert the eyes. Place
the eye fasteners inside the bear.

If you are making the rabbit plush, secure both ears in the middle of the
head with some pins, so they don't get in the way when you sew the outline
of the head.

If you are making the bear plush, make sure the ears are oriented towards
the inside of the head.

Place the Head Front and Head Back pieces right sides together. Sew around
the edges, leaving the neck area unsewn.

Carefully make small snips along the edge to relieve tension in the fabric
when turning it right side out.

leave both the top and bottom sections of the leg unsewn for later assembly
and finishing steps.

it's better to baste the seam area instead of using pins. Sew the sole to
the leg ensuring there are no openings.
