Accommodation in Thessaloniki
The University Dormitories are not available to Erasmus students, however, in order to facilitate the students to find accommodation,
the Erasmus Student Network of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (ESN AUTh) has created the Facebook group below:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/AccommodationInThessalonikiByESN/?fref=ts
This group features:
✓ Ads from people who are renting or looking for a place to stay during their Erasmus in Thessaloniki
✓ Interactive Housing evaluation using a digital map
✓ Opportunities to interact with others (looking for a flatmate? Or some tips from the previous tenants?)
✓ Useful tips for Tax registration (in order to sign a legal contract with the landlord)
✓ Useful tips to avoid scamming
For further assistance, you can also contact the ESN AUTh at:
http://www.auth.esngreece.gr/ or via e-mail: auth@esnthessaloniki.gr, just in case they are aware of any rooms available or other
students seeking for flat-mates.
Moreover, you can make a search in one of the major real-estate websites like:
1. https://en.spitogatos.gr/
and
2. https://en.tospitimou.gr/
Or maybe you can contact former students of your Home University!
Helpful tips from ESN can be found also at the link below:

Please be very cautious towards any advertisement that may look suspicious and require unusual transactions.
Especially:
    • Be careful with the housing advertisements. Avoid ads that do not include any photos of the property and be aware of
ads with photos that look too perfect; double check using Google search if the property exists in the indicated place.
    • Make sure that the owner’s info and contact details are clearly displayed (first name, surname, telephone number and
         not just an email address).
    • Be very suspicious with ads from owners whose bank accounts are not Greek (IBAN number should begin with letters
         GR).
    • Make sure you read carefully all the terms and conditions of the written contact before signing it. It is highly
discouraged to hand over cash before signing your rental contract and before viewing the flat and getting the keys.
    • Check if the property you are interested in is not listed on Airbnb platform and pay attention to the new ‘’Airbnb’’
scam where scammers rent a property via Airbnb and then list it on local web sites as if they owned it.
Moreover, please note that the standard practice is to pay 1 rent in advance and 1 more as a “guarantee” which will actually be
for the last month of your stay.
