"A MEMORABLE FAMILY VACATION "
( Narrative)
The most memorable day for me was when my whole family went back to
Quezon for a vacation and to celebrate Christmas there. Before Christmas,
on the afternoon of the 23rd, we visited my grandmother's grave at the
cemetery to pay our respects. After that, we immediately went to my aunt's
house, which is my father's sister. We had dinner there, and because of the
long trip, we decided to rest at the house of "Nanay," the wife of my father's
brother. I’ve always called her "Nanay" because that’s what I grew up calling
her since childhood.
I fell asleep and woke up late in the evening the i see my cousin eating.
He invited me to join him, and although I felt shy at first, thinking they might
not notice me since it had been a long time, and more than a years we not
saw each other, but I eventually joined him. A lot had changed, and they
had improved their lives significantly. It was so different from the days when
we used to play together and bathe in the rain. After my cousin finished
eating, I asked for his help to turn on the TV. That simple moment led us to
start a conversation about our lives. He asked me about my studies, and I
asked him the same. Our conversation turned out to be pleasant and
meaningful.
The next day, my cousin and I decided to visit our other cousins since
their houses weren’t too far. We walked, and when we finally reunited, it was
such a joyful moment. Despite the years that had passed, it felt like nothing
had changed in our bond. That evening, we happily welcomed Christmas Eve
together, sharing a meal at the dining table. Even though I only received a
few gifts, I was genuinely happy because we were able to see each other
again after so many years. The day was filled with endless stories and
laughter, and even late at night, we were still wandering around together.
However, I got annoyed with one of my cousins, whom I call "Kuya,"
because he kept scaring me and leaving me behind on the road. Since it was
so dark and surrounded by trees, it was genuinely scary in the province.
When we finally arrived at our aunt's house, we ate again because we were
so hungry from all the walking.
Finally, the saddest part was when we had to leave. I said goodbye to my
cousins and aunts, and it brought me to tears because I didn’t know when we
would visit them again, considering how busy my parents are with work.
Before leaving, we took a group picture to have something to remember the
moment by.
I can truly say that day was the most memorable for me. Aside from the
peaceful and beautiful life in the province, I was able to relax and, for a
moment, forget all the stress I had from school at that time.
