NONE OF THE ABOVE

Which Technologies do you see impacting our lives in the next five years? And how? :
In the next five years, 3D printing and AI will significantly alter our lives. 3D printing will revolutionise
manufacturing by cutting costs and reducing the need for extensive tooling, allowing localized
production which lowers transportation costs and speeds up delivery. This technology promotes
sustainability through efficient material use, less waste, and eco friendly materials. It also offers
manufacturing flexibility, adapting quickly to new designs, and supports a circular economy by
repairing or modifying existing products. AI is transforming healthcare with faster, personalized
diagnoses ,enhancing transportation with self driving cars for safer, smoother travel and
personalizing education to match individual learning paces and styles. Together, these technologies
promise more efficient, tailored, and environmentally friendly solutions, reshaping how we produce,
learn, heal and move.

In brief, share your views on Sustainable practices in businesses.

Sustainable business practices are about harmonizing economic growth with environmental
stewardship and social equity. This concept means fulfilling current needs without diminishing the
ability to meet the needs of future generations. It involves three core aspects, environmental
sustainability, where businesses aim to reduce carbon footprints, utilize renewable energy, and
minimize waste, economic viability, ensuring business models are profitable while being
environmentally considerate and social inclusion, which means integrating people from all societal
groups into business practices. This includes fair labor practices, diversity in hiring, and active
community involvement. Sustainable practices also emphasize inclusivity to ensure that everyone,
regardless of socioeconomic status, benefits, which drives innovation through diverse perspectives.
These practices are not only ethically imperative but are increasingly demanded by consumers and
investors, making them vital for long-term business success.

PGDM RESEARCH & BUSINESS ANALYTICS

Explain why you have chosen the PGDM Research and Business Analytics program at welingkar? :
I have chosen the PGDM in Research and Business Analytics program at Welingkar because it offers a
strong combination of business and analytical skills. This blend aims to bridge the gap between
theoretical knowledge and practical application of analytics. The program focuses on teaching
students how to analyse and interpret data, enabling them to extract valuable insights that are useful
for businesses. The program provides hands-on training in a wide range of analytical techniques and
software. This program emphasises on learning the concepts before applying them to real datasets.
This approach ensures a thorough understanding of how these techniques are used to get useful
information. The curriculum includes various areas of analytics, from descriptive to predictive and
prescriptive analytics. This ensures a comprehensive understanding of how data informs decision-
making. It also develops crucial skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-
making. Furthermore, the program emphasizes effective communication of analytical findings. This is
important for clearly presenting the insights derived from data analysis. The program also offers
specialisations in marketing, finance, HR, and operations, allowing students to focus on their areas of
interest. The programs focus on real-world applications and industry connections makes it an
appealing choice

Explain the role of business analytics in today's Business scenario? (giving an example) :
Business analytics helps businesses make smart decisions by looking at data. For example in an ice
cream shop business analytics can show which flavors sell best, when people buy the most ice cream
and how weather affects sales. If data tells you that ice cream sells more on sunny days ,the shop can
make sure that they have lots of vanilla when the weather forecast says it will be hot. This means they
will sell more ice cream and throw less away. It also helps with pricing. If it is a hot day one might
charge a bit more because everyone wants ice cream. Plus, it keeps customers happy by knowing their
likes. In simple words, business analytics turns numbers into stories that help businesses run smoother,
save money, and make customers happy.

Briefly describe up to 2 projects/ or research papers undertaken by you that required data
Collection & Analysis :
In my final year of graduate studies, I collaborated with four friends on a project that involved
physiochemical studies of various water bodies around our area. We analyzed parameters like pH,
conductivity, turbidity, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), dissolved oxygen, and hardness in wetlands,
ponds, beels, rivers, wells, and PHE water tanks. Our objective was to assess the water quality to
understand its impact on both the environment and human health. We collected samples from a wide
range of locations to ensure a comprehensive study. The data we gathered showed significant
variations in water quality, highlighting how different sources of water are affected by both natural
processes and human activities. This project was instrumental in identifying areas where water quality
could be improved, providing valuable insights for environmental management and public health
policies.

PGDM RETAIL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

List 3 opportunities &challenges currently faced by the retail sector in India :

Opportunities Growing Market, Indias retail market is expected to increase significantly, offering vast
opportunities for businesses to expand, especially in smaller cities and rural areas. E-Commerce Boom,
the rise of online shopping, including quick delivery apps is creating new avenues for sales, making it
easier for consumers to buy products with fast delivery options. Tech Adoption, with more people
using smartphones, retailers can use technology like AI for better customer insights and personalized
shopping experiences. Challenges Competition, the retail sector faces intense competition from both
big e-commerce platforms and small local shops, which can make it tough for new or existing
businesses to stand out. Supply Chain Issues, managing logistics and supply chains efficiently remains
a hurdle, particularly with the demand for quick delivery, as it requires robust infrastructure and
technology to maintain speed and reliability. Regulatory Hurdles, complex regulations and policies can
slow down business operations. The government is trying to simplify these, but changes are slow,
affecting how quickly retailers can scale or innovate. These opportunities and challenges shape the
landscape of retail in India, requiring strategic planning to leverage growth while navigating obstacles.
Briefly describe 3 key technology trends influencing the retail sector today:
Online Shopping and Combining Channels Retailers are increasingly moving online, linking their
physical stores with digital platforms. This means customers can shop online and collect items from
stores, making shopping easier and helping manage stock better. Using AI for Personal Touches
Artificial intelligence helps retailers give customers a personalized experience. AI looks at what
customers like and suggests items just for them. It also helps set prices and uses chatbots to answer
questions, making customers feel more valued and likely to return. Trying Things with Augmented
Reality Augmented reality lets people see how products look before buying them. This is big for
clothes, makeup, and furniture where you can try items virtually. It cuts down on returns, makes
shopping fun, and works both in stores and online, blending the two worlds. These trends are pushing
retailers to adapt, focusing on making shopping easy, personal, and engaging.
