*Revision of colours, numbers 1-10, school objects.

(Some students attended lessons last year but some students are new in this group)

Activity # 1 (colours)

Warm up: show/pint some objects in the classroom and ask students if they know/remember those colours in
English.

Presentation: see the following videos. Students can repeat the colours while watching the video and listening to the
song: * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhOTU8_1Af4 (only for repetition)

Systematization: revise/introduce “What’s your favourite colour?”. The teacher throws a ball to the students and
asks the question. Students should answer “It’s (yellow)” “My favourite colour is…..”. (always help them to answer
the question if they don’t remember how to start)

Practice: memory game with colours.

Production/craft: students colour the HO following the teacher’s instructions. (Always point to the picture they have
to colour when you say “The leaf is green” for example. Although they don’t know the vocabulary, it is useful to say
the objects in English)

Activity # 2 (numbers 1-10)

Warm up: *revise colours- They pick up a card (from memory game) and the teacher asks “What’s your favourite
colour?”- They should answer saying the colour they have in the card.

*Take some colour pencils from the box. First, ask the colour of the pencils. Then, use them to count up to
10. You can count them, different times using different intonations or forms (example: whispering, as a
monster, as a little ant, crying, smiling, etc)

the numbers while watching the video.

Systematization: using puppets: introduce/revise:

Practice: give students one of the puppets (they usually choose the one they want) and with the other puppet ask
them the question. They should try to answer it with their age.

Production: *Trace the number and colour the pictures following the teacher’s instructions. (Example: number one is
red- so, students trace number 1 using a red pencil and they colour one apple using a red pencil- always check if they
are colouring the correct picture)- Once, they finish colouring everything, they cut and glue the pictures next to the
correct number. (It’s better if they cut and glue one by one in order not to lose the pictures and in order not to make
the activity so difficult)

Relaxation: what’s missing? game. The teacher sticks all the number cards on the board. She makes students close
their eyes and removes of the numbers. She makes students open their eyes again and they should discover what
number disappeared and they should try to say it in English.

Activity # 3 (school objects-colours- numbers)

Warm up: colours/numbers race. The teacher sticks cards with numbers and colours on the board. Students get into
two groups. The teacher calls out a number or a colour and the first student of each line should run and pick up the
correct card. (if students don’t frustrate with competitions, you can write down on the board the points of each
group)

Presentation: see the video, sing the song and if they want, they can represent it.

Systematization: revise all the school objects they have already learnt by means of flashcards. Repeat them with
different intonations: SCHOOL BAG, RUBBER/ERASER, PENCIL CASE, PENCIL, PEN, BOOK, NOTEBOOK, CHAIR, TABLE,
RULER.

*Introduce how to answer the following question: “What’s this?”---It’s a (pencil)

Practice: the teacher shows real things to the students and asks “What’s this?”- They should answer it. Then, the
teacher can also ask “What colour is the (chair)?”

Production/craft: cut and glue the object in the correct box (they cut the objects- the teacher reads the words and
students should glue the correct picture in the correct box)
